Hello LOST brothers and sisters, I have joined this forum in hopes keeping my learning curve with jeep liberty to a minimum. I haven't purchased one as of yet, that is one of the reasons I have joined. I need to learn more about em and any pitfalls all of you are probably aware of. I have had 4X4 vehicles in the past, never a jeep so I'm excited to hear/read/learn whatever I can about jeep. I have chosen the liberty based on the fact it will fit my life more than a pickup or other suv. So please lead me to any links that would be beneficial and I look forward to "talking" to you all.

Welcome! Good pick with the Liberty. I recently purchased an 08 and haven't had any complaints. What year were you looking into?

I worked for a Ford dealer we moved liberties almost as much as the f150s. You will love the ride and versitlity that they offer. Only complaint I have is the rust on my 3rd light.

I'm looking at on 02 with116,00 miles. But.....if the guy who has it can be believed, these were almost all trailered miles behind a RV. He wants 7,500 for it. The ones I have been looking at in regards to this year are about 9,000 and up depending on model and of course miles on it. Do you guys think this is a decent price for it? It is TOTALLY SPOTLESS inside. Non smoker, no dents or scratches that I have seen. Thanks for any help in this!

Get the 02 Liberty. It has the 45RFE transmission and I've heard it's the best one in the Liberties.
Correct me if I'm wrong guys.
Another thing, the preacher at the church I go to; his wife has a 2002 salsa red limited Liberty with 185,000 miles but a piston went out. So now it sits and sits; until they decide if they're going to get a new engine or part it out.

There's guys(and gals) on here with Liberties that have well over 100k+ miles. Mine is almost to 70,000 miles. I can get another 100,000 out of it if I take really good care of the Jeep (which I do).

I want a Salsa Red Liberty SOOOOOOOO bad, I would trade my white one for a decent Salsa red.

I wonder if they would sell it??

Well if they decide to part the Jeep out, I will let you know. BUT I HAVE DIBS ON THE LEATHER SEATS!
He said he would consider selling the whole Jeep to someone. Sooo.... :juggle:
You would have to put a new engine in it though. I'm sure you have a spare engine laying around somewhere

I will definately let you know if they decide to sell the Liberty. You're #1 on my list of people to tell.

Sometimes I wish I had a 02-04 Liberty.
