I just acquired my CRD this summer, not sure if the plugs have ever been changed or not, what is the easiest way to know if they're the 7v ceramic or 5v metallic? (I am an admitted noob so detailed instructions are much appreciated, pictures even!)

Hmmmm.... This is a good question. Without some fancy electronics to tell you if you were running 5v or 7v my bet is to look at the wiring harness. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell the difference between stock wiring harness and the new 5v??? I threw my old one out, so nothing to compare.

I was talking with Keith from GDE and asked him this question, here is his response...

"The easiest method to determine glow plug type is to remove the connecter from the #1 glow plug and look at the tip of the glow plug. There is a plastic insulator built into the plug just below the tip. If the plastic portion is white then you have the ceramic glow plugs, if it is red you have the metallic glow plugs."

Sounds pretty straight forward, only problem is I don't even know what the connector is that he refers to! Can someone elaborate or post an image highlighting the connector?

Thanks and sorry for being so
