I usually walk the trail first to cut all of the weeds down/make sure I want to take the trail.

No scratches for me! :)

Come to Moab and do Kane Creek Canyon. You will get plenty of pinstriping there.

I am designing something that will keep you from getting them.. If it works... It is in the R&D stages now..

I believe something that would be cool is a plastic clear cover over the paint. Kind of like the stuff they put on the front of cars, but not as expensive.

Here's the trail that did me in:

Image

I don't have any photos of the actual pinstriping, but I can tell you that it got every bit of body from nose to tail, rock-rail to roof. the hood is mostly free from it, as is the grill and tailgate. This just shows the irony that a brushguard would do NOTHING to protect you from brush.

I'm thinking that for small brush like this, the only way to protect the paint is a thick clearcoat. No amount of metal bar caging will do it. The larger branches you MIGHT be able to handle with some kind of bar/cable system.

Ben,
If you were coming to Uwharrie on the 8th, you could have some of your own.

Not sure how high others get their striping, but mine are all the way to the top of the windows. I can't check now, but I know I have some pictures in the www.carolina-lost.com gallery.

I really would love to come.. But I have stuff I really need to do around the house.. I have been on the road every weekend for the past 2 weekends and now this weekend makes 3.. Most important thing is the garage.. I have to get the garage cleaned out.. It is stuffed full of boxes I want to go through... But I will be able to make the Coal Creek run in May.. If all goes well.. I should have my idea finished and test it out...

Ben
