Any ideas on what I could do to increase mpg? I took the front air dam off do you think that could have affected it?

I'm only getting 15.5 average, so don't feel so bad. How many miles do you have on your engine? They take a while to break in.

My Option, My thoughts, My person life trials all are used to give you my answers....

It might be the gass you are buying....

My Jeep get 14.3MPG City with Costco Gass.
When we use Chevron Gass we get 15.8 MPG City

So I think differant gass does differant things...

This is my 2 cents

If that fails, make sure you have a clean Air filter, ease onto the gas and off the gass, coast when possilbe.
Use cruise control when possible.

Remove junk form the Jeep, just random stuff can add weight and use up more gass...

Change the oil often.. the cleaner the oil the better... I will leave it at that.

The tires would effect it especially if you went up in size. How many miles you have on it? Other factors could be type of driving, traffic conditions, weather condtions and also where you got your gas from. Soon unfortunately for us on the east coast we switch to the Oxygenated gas during winter and it drops efficiency like 10%.

Hope it gets better I average about 17mixed, the best on hwy about 20.

I'm also running all terrain tires, granted the GY Wranglers that came on the jeep. For the first thousand miles I was only getting about 14.2 or so miles per gallon. As of my last fill-up, I got 16.4. All of my driving is in the city and any highway driving I actually do is in stop and go traffic. So it looks like once I passed a thousand miles it did start to improve. That and my being very conscious of the way I drive, using steady acceleration from stops, etc. I've also been mostly gentle on the engine, not using hard acceleration for passing or going up-hill.

I had the same as the above. I noticed considerable difference as soon as I passed 1k miles on my 2011.

I avg. 18mpg urban driving in my 2011 Limited 4x2 (not hwy, but not inner city) I travel 26 miles round trip to my office with 34 stops along the way(17 lights one way). I had to adjust my driving habits coming from a 2007 300C. But I definitely don't baby it either.

I get 20.5 HWY and about 17 City

I have:
- ALMOST 99,000 Miles
- OEM SKIDS + Gas Tank Skid
- 245/70/16 Destination AT
- Running Boards
- Air Dam removed

The thing to remember is to

1. MAINTAIN MAINTAIN MAINTAIN
- I am religious with oil changes, spark plugs, air filter, alignments and all other "Routine" maintainence
and I use synthetic and have for some time.
2. CRUISE CONTROL
- USE IT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! Keeps your RPMs steady.
3. Take your time to get up to speed (no jack rabbit starts)
- I try to keep my RPMs as low as possible with out compromising road safety.
4. Drafting
- NEVER compromise safety for efficiency but you can always ride 50 yards behind a big rig and that
helps with your wind resistance.
5. Take time to know your truck
- The libby is a heavy little piggy, and most of all IT'S A TRUCK! Drive it as such, if you want speed go get
yourself a mustang or an audi. This is all TRUCK.

LAST but not LEAST, its a JEEP. If you wanted real MPG's you should've gotten and smart car :-)r

That's the one statement I hate, hate drivers that use this one even more and it's hard on my trans as I'm always having to let off then floor it,then let off and then floor it for idiot slow drivers. It's sad to see a Vette take 5 miles to get to 25mph.With my 6000lbs to haul around I have to get up to speed fast,it's easier for my KJ to maintain 50mph then try to slowing accelerate to 50mph over a 2-3 mile stretch and it's always uphill here for some dang reason.

the quicker I get to 4th gear and level out at 1,500-2,000 RPMs, the better MPGs I get. I find if I accelerate like a grandma I end up sitting at higher RPMs for longer before I get up to speed. plus its no fun

I went up very little in tire size. I'm about to reach 14,000 miles.
