Dont buy the locking gas cap for jparts. It locks and spins the way its supposed to but if you push in on it and turn it, its pops right off. :? Waste of my $12.

Ill take pics of the install tomorrow. Ill be sure to show how those nutzerts go in.

Real nice. Now you gotta get them scratched up.
Having the full set of skid plates really adds to your peace of mind when crawling over stuff.

Jeepster is the man !

He cleared me up on the subject of 4 skids - VS- 3. I was clearly misguided by my instruction sheet nomenclature and my dealer. He sent me pics of his transfer skid sheet.

I wanna see what my dealer does when I show them the two diff sheets with the same name and diff pictures.

I was almost wrong

Hey Jeepjeepster,

Is that gascap that's no a good a MOPAR unit, or of some other make? I was considering a locking cap myself so I'd like to know if I should steer clear of jeep's unit.

Rick

It is the mopar cap. Ive heard not to use any other cap but mopar so thats why I got it. I was kinda in a hurry and couldnt look at it real good. You can see it in that first pic, thats it in that little box. If you push in on it real hard, it pops right off. Ill see if i can do anything with it tomorrow.

Maybe its just mine? My bro has one on his cherokee and it works great.

I would take back that gas cap and get a replacement. They shouldn't do that. I know a few people that have them, and they work. BTW, the 2005+ KJ's have an anit-syphoning device in the filler neck, so I dont need a locking cap.
