Have seen a few listing that you can run a Rubicon T-case and it is a straight bolt on(other then the shifter being up in 2 and down in 4low) will this still work with it being a IFS. Only seen it on with the SFA swaps? Mine is leaking and wouldn't mind the upgrade to 4:10. In doing so would I have to switch the the gears out in the Diffs? Was planing on doing it anyway but if I could do one thing at a time that would be nice.

You can swap in the RockTrac, new driveshafts will be needed(or old ones remade to work).

It will bolt in no problem, however, as previously mentioned driveshafts will have to be adapted at significant cost. Not sure if you can put the current yokes on the 241 or what??

One other potential issue as that although it surely will bolt up no problem it may need to be clocked. I heard of a guy that threw one in an XJ cherokee and had to bang the piss out of the floor to get it to fit. So if you're fine with that, go ahead. The linkage should be able to bolt up with very little trouble, it won't be backwards! If so just flip the arm on the Tcase 180 degrees.

If you got this thrown in you'd have zero difference in 2wd and 4hi....the difference is in 4low. That being said, unless you're into rocks the 4to1 is probably not going to benefit you much. If you're into rocks you probably already have 4.56 or 4.88s anyways so this wouldn't help. lower low range is not beneficial in the mud!! Also, the 241 really shines behind a manual....never driven it behind an auto but it would probably suck as you'd have to start off in 1st every time....with the manual you can just start off in 3rd or 4th...or even 5th (or 6th if you have it) if needs be.

Where is your current Tcase leaking from?? I'm not sure on the clocking (that means rotation, like the part of the Tcase that goes off to the side, what angle is it at....they vary from vehicle to vehicle even though a TJ Tcase will bolt right up to any other unibody or post CJ jeep) but you can grab any Tcase from any late model jeep and it will fit....KJ would be ideal. XJs are a dime a dozen and you can get XJ tcases for cheap all day long, just not sure if they're clocked correctly for you.

231 Tcases are pretty durable, chances are if it's leaking it will be easier for you to fix it rather than replace it. The only time replacement is warranted is if you crack the whole housing....I've seen it happen but it's rare, they can take A LOT of abuse. I have a friend that has half of an NP231 attached to a Dana 300 for dual transfer cases. Works great!!
