Hello, I have an 06 renny , I love the looks and the color but have never felt my driving position was ergonomic for me. I am constantly adjusting the seat and the steering wheel and never feel it is just right and I"m only 5"9 with an average build. I have never been inside a KK so was just looking for some personal experience's and or opinions

I'm pretty happy with the driving position in the KK. Ony real complaints are that the wheel isn't telescoping so I end up sitting kind of far forward (took me a little while to get used to, but now it doesn't bother me) and that there's not as much room for the driver as other trucks. Overall though I feel pretty comfortable with the driving position and once I found where I felt good, I haven't had to adjust anything

My sister had a KJ and I hated driving it. I thought the seats were really uncomfortable. But now I have a KK and the seats are so much more comfortable. I dont know if its just because of the form of the seat, but I find it much more comfortable to drive than a KJ. I wish it was a telescoping steering wheel too but I found a position thats very comfortable without it. Go to the dealer and ask to check it out. Thats really know only way youll know if youll be comfortable.

Yes. Me. The seating position is exactly the same but compared to an '05-'07 KJ, the seats are much more comfortable. '02-'04... seat comfort is about the same.

Anything else you need to know?

Drove around yesterday concentrating ( very rare) on my driving position. Like others here if i can get the steering wheel to be about 1.5 to 2 inches closer to me that would definitely help. At the same time have the gas and brake pedal about an inch to the left. Its not so much that the seat itself is uncomfortable. Hmmmm i wonder if a steering nob would help ??? Sounds like the KK has the same seating position, I,m just gonna have to go down to carmax and take a test drive. Looks like the KK has more storage inside,. I also dig the double din radio for aftermarket selection, the sky slider and apparently it gets 2 more MPG.

P.S. can u fit a 245/75/16 in that spare tire space underneath the jeep ?

I'm only 5'6", so my biggest complaint is not about telescoping steering wheel. Since I have to have the seat pretty far forward, I only have about an inch or two of space between my knees and the bottom of the dash. Definitely was a big difference moving from a mid-sized car to this with regard to the amount of space. Only thing I really miss is having a footrest for my left foot instead of having to plant it practically flat on the floor.

Same here. Now I actually kind of like it. You're able to stretch out your leg a little easier on long drives.

I never notice the lack of a foot rest. :ALONE:

However, I hated that every once in a while when I get out of the truck. My foot kicks the hood release handle.

That kickpanel where the hood latch release handle is where I rest my foot.

That's kind of what I've found myself doing. My last car was a Mazda 6, it had a nice little angled rest almost in the same position as the accelerator pedal if it were 3/4 the way to the floor. Was so comfortable, but I'm getting used to not having it any more I suppose :)
Especially considering the mazda could never take on any of the roads I've had the jeep down so far.
