hey guys,
was taking a look at the rack on my 04 and was trying to figure out how to remove it so i can get an idea on how it mounts for fabbing my own.

is what i got, and from what i can tell i need to pry apart the plastic where it bends down (or up) to get to bolts?

Exactly. A trim tool, or small plastic spatula will remove the plastic cover that covers the outside of the curved part at the roof. It just pops off and on. The bolts are behind that.
