Issue with the rear gate glass

My dash keeps blinking "gate" at me even though its closed and it wont release. How do i fix this?

There is a lot of electrical components in the back door. There is a little micro switch on the inside of the door handle that goes bad....mine is diconnected...the glass would pop open when ever it was wet....this is the second one. There is also a larger unit that pops the glass when the key fob is hit....check out both of these.

found the issue after I took off the back door panel, I can easily do the work myself but the part is $140 which I am not happy about but will end up doing anyway. I will take lots of pictures and document items in hopes I can do a How to afterwards.

i believe there was a tsb and/or easy fix for this sort of issue...

Link? That would be great. I atleast took advantage of removing the backing door facing and cleaned out all the broken glass left over from the broken window I had a few weeks ago.

As of this morning this issue has somehow corrected itself after 3 weeks and everything is back to fully functional, wierd

The gate latch probably got wet where the sensor/switch is. That's what happened to me when my glass was leaking.
