good tip on the allpar website...look what I found:

Quote:
Sold in key international markets throughout the world, the 2007 Jeep Wrangler is available with a diesel engine, as well as left- and right-hand-drive models. Built at Chrysler Group’s Stickney Avenue Toledo Assembly Plant in Toledo, Ohio, the 2007 Jeep Wrangler will arrive in Jeep dealerships in the fall of 2006.

Is the diesel going to be available in North America? They've had them overseas for years haven't they?

Nope, no diesel in a Wrangler yet...even overseas where they get all the good diesel toys first. :-( If they actually DO release the diesel in the Wrangler in America at the same time as (or, dare I say...before) Europe or Australia...it'll be a first.

Think of how the new fuel economy standards are going to increase the sales of gasser trucks leading up to the change. ;-) The used truck market will soar after the change too.

Remember, PT cruisers and such are classified by the EPA as "trucks" and stuff like that really helps the CAFE out. I would like to see the EPA classification for Patriots and Compii (plural compass??. If they are "trucks" like the PT, that will help. lol
