Hi fellow Jeepers,

I am the new owner of a Blue 2008 Liberty Sport, which I've had for a couple of months. Nothing is wrong with it just now (knock on wood!), but I wanted to make my first post to the forum and say hi.

Before the Blue KK I had a Burgundy 2000 XJ Cherokee that I babied (I was always fixing something!) but I loved that Jeep. I have a job that takes me up mountains on washed out forest service roads in the summer (can you think of a funner job? :D ). The XJ never let me down and I never got stuck. I'd still be driving it as my DD if it hadn't been totaled by a hit-and-run driver back in April. :dead: I'm hoping the new Liberty will be just as tough and just as fun to drive on a day to day basis. So far I like its road manners, but my KK has yet to cut its teeth on the trail.

Back when I owned the XJ, I was a member of the CherokeeForum and found it to be super helpful and a great online community, so I'm joining LOST for the same reasons. I like to fix as many things myself as I can, unless I'm dealing with serious engine or suspension work. I don't have a garage or a fancy set of tools, but I have jack stands, a XJ Haynes manual and the forum to fill the gaps. I'm looking forward to learning more about my new Jeep and helping others out where I can.

Best regards, and happy trails. :JEEPIN:

Welcome to LOST. I've got an 08 KK too and seem to be in a similar situation to you, no garage, no fancy tools, and doing most of the maintenance. I've found the forum extremely helpful and I hope you do too. :JEEPIN:

Thanks for the welcome, cgass. I enjoy Jeep maintenance as a break from my everyday job. I used to do all my own oil changes with my old XJ, but my new KK came with 4 free oil changes per year and free inspections for life as a dealership perk! :D Not that I'm hoping something goes wrong, but I do miss wrenching on the Jeep as a way to relax.
