The reason they tell you not to use the drivers side tow hook is this: If the strap comes loose or chain breaks when it's hooked up to the drivers side, all the energy/force of the strap and chain are flying right at the driver. If you use the passenger side hook when you're getting towed or pulled out, more than likely there isn't anyone sitting in the passenger seat, thus reducing the risk of injury or death caused by a strap hook or chain coming through the windshield.

KKs get two hooks if its an installed option when you buy it new. They don't want you to damage the ps cooler hose on the driver side.

the power steering cooler lines run on the driver side which is probably why they say that. not a big deal really. i had both KJ hooks on mine, not sure there is even a difference in the KK hook.

The Driverside has the thick hoses running right next to where the hook mounts, I guess they're saying not to use it to cover themselves. I would put still put both on, and in the event you need to use them, use the passenger side.

And there is definitely not a difference in the KJ hooks, versus the KK hooks.

My salesman had one installed on my 09 KK for me (he got tired of hearing me cry about how my 04 didn't have any) and they put it on the passenger side only. I didn't want one on the back. I put a hitch on it instead.

I got mine from summit racing because they'd take them back if they didn't fit, they did though. The bag of hardware had a part number on it for every part but I can't find it to post them, sorry I know it would help a few who bought used ones without hardware.

I don't know because I have a hitch but I've been told that both chassis are very similar if not the same.

To all concerned, it is possible to pull the tow hooks right off the truck if pulled too hard, be careful and do not let anyone jerk on the front hooks, you'll regret it.
