Dude... You need to work in advertising. I think you have a real talent there. :D

I will say that you have me hooked though. As soon as the warranty is up (about 2 oil changes) I will be buying. I will say around August at the latest. Maybe sooner, who knows.

Amsoil will Not affect your warranty at All. So why wait?
Amsoil routinely fights situations where extended service intervals or use of their product are called into question on a warranty claim. They are the only Synthetic oil to Guarantee performance of their product during extended service intervals.

Let me know if you want/need Any more info and we will talk.

Thanks!! JJ

The warranty stuff from Amsoil is the straight skinny, a buddy of mine had a warranty problem while running Amsoil auto tranny fluid in his new Chevy truck. He called Amsoil and the boss himself and one or more of his lawyers had a little conference call with the people involved. He got his new tranny.

Right there is your problem.

1.) Valvoline oil sucks. It's well known to have tons of parafin (sp?) in it, which if I'm not mistaken is also used in candles and other waxes. Anyway, over time this cheap oil will start to sludge up inside your engine. And as the miles rack up it can cause serious problems. Try to stick with quality motor oils like Pennzoil.

2.) You are using 10W30 which is OK...but 5W30 is what's normally recommended for your engine.

Your situation sucks though...I wish you luck in getting it fixed.

Valvoline doesn't contain paraffin. It has been some time since pariffin has been used in any brand oil.

I have used it for years in many vehicles with no propblems including my 02 KJ 3.7L.
If they are trying to blame the problem on the oil give Valvoline a call maybe they will offer some assistance and be willing to argue with DC.

How many miles on your engine?

3-5k oil changes no matter what oil I don't see it sludging up like this, when you drain your oil what color was it?

How often do you drive? Does your KJ sit for long periods of time?

5w30 is the recommened weight for the engine but a 10w30 shouldn't cause the issues you are having.

I use a variety of oil depending on what's on sale, but mostly Mobil 1, I change it every 3-4k and when it drains it still has a carmel color to it...

35k on my engine.

Quality motor oils like Pennzoil?? You must be kidding- when I worked as a mechanic we saw far more problems with Pennzoil products, ex. white sludge in the valve covers..Valvoline is a quality oil and the weight of the oil he is using is certainly not the problem either.. from what I have heard Pennzoil was using parafin long after the other major oil companies had stopped.. best of luck to him getting warranty tho'

Well that's odd. Maybe the oil around here is different then. Because mechanic experience around here shows just the opposite. Hundreds of thousands of miles on Pennzoil...clean engines. Lots of problems with Valvoline and similar oils. Hence the reason we call Valvoline "cheap" oil around here. Oh well...to each their own. If you want to use Valvoline in your vehicle go for it. It's yours. You won't catch me with it in mine though after what I've seen with my own eyes inside engines that have used it.
