Can anyone help me out I have purchased a set of 2006 renegade Roof Rails for my 2004 kj but unfortunatley I still need the inner caps 4 in total that cover up the mounting holes, struggling with part numbers at the dealership as they need a vin number to try and locate the part (as mine is not a renegade it has different rails and covers ) can anyone give me the 4 part numbers for the covers thankyou.
They look like the ones in this post

I don't think that anyone has put that rack on their rig on purpose.

Why? was it a bad move purchasing it? even if nobody has fitted one ,someone must have a renegade they could pop the covers off and get me a part number.

I think people don't like the big plastic basket that sits inside the rails.
I don't know the specific numbers, but I know the Renegade Rails hold a little less weight than the Sport, or Limited rails. I like the way they look though.

The reason why people dont put the renegade rails on is they are weaker then the sport rails. When I installed a surco rack I bought sport rails and I have my renegade rails sitting in the garage now. If I didnt keep the parts from my vehicles I would sell you mine. But alas I do keep my parts and shipping would be too murderous to make it worth it.

edit: But I do have to admit I love the tupperware look and functionality.

liquidxit2 do your bars look like the ones in the piccies on the link at my first post? If you have some sat in storage could you please note down the 4 seperate part numbers for the bolt cover caps. Hi Sir Sam looked on the parts fiche at a dealership and it only showed the part numbers for the normal rails. Struggling here and have already payed out £90 for 4 caps that are incorrect and dealership will not allow to be returned. Dont carry much weight up there just a couple of cycle racks, just wanted to update the look a little , wanted the aluminium standard rails found pn later model kj's but came across renie bars . Thanks .

Jimmy, go into the noob guide, look at the link to the FSM and parts fiches, and then download a parts fiche.

After you have done that search the PDF for keywords such as "cargo rack" "roof rack" "luggage rack" or "rack".
(protip, "luggage rack" on page 550 of the 05 parts fiche has the part numbers you want. There are two possibilities, for the parts, trim line MW1/MWE or trim line MWZ.

So we now have the part numbers, with a 50/50 chance of guessing right.

Now using a bit of deductive logic I can safely guess which part number you need;

There are three trim lines, Sport, Limited, and Renegade. Each has a different roof rack setup. The Sport/Limited shares the same end caps but a different center rail(silver vs black). The Renegade has a different rail and a different cap.

So MW1 and MWE are listed as having the same end cap, and MWZ is listed as having a different end cap than that.

So we know that MW1/MWE trim use one of the caps, and we know MWZ uses the other. So its fair to guess that the cap you want for the renengade is MWZ.

But wait there's more! Since you just ordered 1 cap that was wrong and its a 50/50% chance by looking at the bag and seeing which part number is wrong we can double check and see if the MWZ part number is NOT the part you already ordered.

So then I take the suspected part number and put it in online.....and ~22USD.......so if you really really wanted to be sure you could order one online to a member in the US to make sure it was the right one.

Also keep in mind that I can order parts at -25% of list price in the US, and then ship them overseas to fellow Jeep owners.

So Jimmy, no offense, I've told you exactly how to fish, even landed the fish on your hook, but you gotta reel it in now. So don't no one go calling me a fishgiver.

Here goes Sir Sam,
C55360427AC
C55360425AE
C55360424AE
C55360426AC
Those are the 4 I ordered that turned out to be the same as the ones I already had on my original rails.
Instead of just the 1 triangular slot in them the ones I require have 2 and appear bigger overall like in the pic in link below.

Just need to get the right parts as its cost me dearly already for parts that are wrong and cannot be returned. My normal dealership has gone bust ,so had to travel to another ,they need a chassis number to order and as mine is not a renegade we had to use the vehicle reg from a renegade on ebay and run a hpi check to get vin/chassis number and I still ended up with wrong parts.

Yup bingo! MWZ is the correct option code. So since its a 50/50% chance and we elminate the wrong ones, and the MWZ part numbers have to be the right ones!

So you need:
1 COVER, Luggage Rack
55156941AB 1 [MWZ], Left, Front
5515694

Copy paste failed:

55156941AB 1 [MWZ], Left, Front
55156943AB 1 [MWZ], Left, Rear
55156940AB 1 [MWZ], Right Front
55156942AB 1 [MWZ], Right Rear

that should be right, the other option is:
55360425AE 1 [MWE], [MW1], Left, Front
55360427AC 1 [MWE], [MW1], Left, Rear
55360424AE 1 [MWE], [MW1], Right Front
55360426AC 1 [MWE], [MW1], Right Rear

Which you have indicated is incorrect.
