So I'm getting my new tires and putting my RK lift on tomorrow. I forgot to order front bump stops. Will these fit?

http://www.teraflex.biz/front-bumpstops-liberty-jeeps.html#second

IDK if the KJ and KK front bumpstops are the same.
(Also gotta stop at my local Benny's for hockey pucks :) )

They are the same kj/kk. Hockey pucks won't work with the rk rear spacers. I filled my daystar spacers with plywood rounds and rtv. Not sure if the rk spacers are hollow or not, but if they are, then i would fill them.

They look like this Image

The walls are solid, but it looks kinda like a donut. So basically I should cut some plywood and coat it with some kind of polymer and affix them somehow to the rear spacer? (IE drill them in or appoxy them?) I'm not sure where to put them in the back. Got a pic of yours? I put the lift n tires on yesterday too

I found a great guide by RLF, (Its for a Rubicon but w/e same concept) I gotta measure the circumfrance of the RK risers, but what size are your bump stops ?

REAR BUMP STOP GUIDE ---> http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/Adjusting_Bumpstops.htm

Also just placed the order for the front bump stops.

Its hard to see in this photo, but basically i just filled in the hollow part. I dropped in the plywood rounds, then sealed it with rtv. This won't let the upper orange colored bumpstops slide into the spacers and overcompress the springs and stretch the brake lines.

Thanks Atthehelm, that's perfect. That's exactly what I was gonna do. So I don't have to take the entire thing apart think I can just slap some mighty putty on the bottom of the wood and epoxy the top?

At first i just dropped them in (dont have to remove the spring) but water was getting trapped in there. Thats why i used rtv to seal it all up. You might have a hard time with the epoxy, but it should work.

JBA sells urethane bumpstops for the rear now. They're for a 4" lift but they're made in a way that it's easily cut to the proper length. Just sayin. Good idea with the RTV, those spacers trap a lot of water.

So I tried to do what Atthehelm did, but I glued everything together first and then realized I'd never get it through the springs into the center of the lift.

What I'm gonna do is just drill a hole horizontally through the plastic spacer and just put a bolt through. I don't see why it wont work lol Think I should drill a few holes on the bottom of the spacer to let water out?

I put the tereflex bump stops in the front. Boy were those a doozy to get in. The old ones came out really easy, just pulled on em rly hard. I greased up the tereflex bump stops and the fitting it goes in with some Pam (I think it was butter flavored lol) then used a 2x4 to pry it in. I used the wheel as a fulcrum. Even with the 2x4 the thing took a lot of strength to pry in.

Seems to me like putting holes in the spacer would compromise its integrity. If one split apart while driving it could be catastrophic :grim:

lol I enjoyed the smiley. Hmmmmmmmm, well back to the workshop. I'm gonna give the 2x4 cut-out RTV thing another go. This time I'll assemble it after I put it in the space lol. Let you know how it goes. thanks Atthehelm!

If you jack up the rear so the axle droops they should go in. The spaces between the coils will open up.
Ted- you're right the jba bump stops would also work well as long as they fit inside the spacers and cut to the right height. Mallet heads are another idea.

they fit mine very nicely, I had to cut them at the lowest spot, they're made for a 4" lift and they are stepped so that you know where to cut them for the lifr on your rig. They have to be screwed to the spring mount on the axle or I guess they could be glued to the spacer.
