Go OEM. They do the job and their cheap(er).

JeepinByAl sells some but they're pretty pricey.

edit: I guess they are KJ only but for some reason he lists them with the 4" KK kit as well.

IIRC, the front skid and the trans skid might be the same as the KJ

If you play on the rocks OEM skids are a one time use only type of thing. There rather thin.

I put 3 of 4 OEM plates on my KK. They have battle scars to show they do work.

I agree with going with thicker ones if you love playing in the rocks but you will be adding more weight too. I've not installed the one for the gas tank as ground clearance with a stock KK is limited as it is. If you just want underbody protection from curbs and ruts, stock OEM is cheaper and less weight.

Those don't look like rock scars. Looks like you ran over a basket of ticked off lions.

On a the same subject, why or does anyone make one that protects the muffler? Mine has a few "dings" and I now carry some bailing wire incase I pose the band that's holding it one now. :dizzy:

Mufflers are cheap to replace,a $5000 engine,$3000 trans,$1500 front diff,or $1000 t-case is really not.

Just saying, though my tank already has some kinds of sheld around the tank, they make a plate for it. Why not make one for the muffler too? Hanging one can't be good for the WHOLE system, yanking on all the joints up the chain is bound to break something loose. I choice to protect the items you stated, one more can't hurt .
