See the crap next to the caps? I've never seen a battery do this before. Battery acid? Should that be happening? Excuse to upgrade? About to explode?

Those are the vents, the battery acid has boiled.Good sign your overcharging or the battery is on it's way out.

How long do I have? Still starts fine, voltage tests out OK.

There's no way to answer that question, there isn't a countdown. The best answer is replace it as soon as you can.

my 06 renegade battery was leaking just like that. it lasted a couple months before the rear hatch window started opening by itself. i searched this site and found that its a sign of a bad voltage output so i replaced the battery right away. window hasnt opened since.
