Any down sides to putting some 1 inch wheel spacers on? I just want the wider bulldog stance.

Will they affect wheel well rubbing?
225/75/16 with intentions to go to 245/75/16 post 2" lift someday.

Will they play hooky with the stability control computer?

From what I have read from other members is, spacers only make things worse, unless you are getting new wheels then you have to play with the offset and so on. if you are keeping the stock wheels then probably not a good idea

Yes I'd be keeping the stock wheels, just sending them out 1.5" wider.

I know this KK also has a metric doo doo ton of other mods, FWIW

So I'm not the only one that liked the stance of that KK lol. Ok maybe a little more lift

Thats the rock father lift (which i wouldnt recommend)
Modifications done to that vehicle
huge off set difference
control arms
springs shocks
spacers
fender trimming.

I just like the stance. It would look even better with more lift. That's what a 2" lift? 3" at most? The 4" JBA would make it look alot nicer I bet.

Yeahbut . . .

Doesn't that *&^^&* up a whole lot of components? IIRC, Digger had a heck of a time breaking stuff as a result of going higher than 3"

Not sure. I thought Digger tested it all. I know Hislop has the JBA4" and I don't think he has had any problems, and Jeepin_it_real just installed his JBA4", but his is too new to have many problems.

Resurrecting this thread:

1" spacers on stock 16" wheels.

Could someone explain why this would be bad from a layman's engineering stand point?

I want a wider stance, and I don't understand why this won't work

You would probably want to go with 1.25" spacers if you do it, that way you won't have to cut the wheel studs.
Some say they are unsafe, especially the cheaper ones. Spidertrax is what is recommended over and over again. Good tire shops most likely wont touch your vehicle with them installed. Depending on what your tire size/lift setup is they may cause your front tires to rub when turning or rear tires to rub/ripoff the flares.

Yeah, I never thought about the tires ripping off the flares if the wheel is pushed all the way into the fender. Good point.

Thanks for your :2cents:

I like the stance, from what I can see atleast. I love the look of tires hanging out just an inch or a little less. And I love that blue. I wish I would have gotten that over my red. I don't even think my dealer had that blue...
