I guess this could be considered an introductory post as well as a "WTB" ad. I hope that is not in violation of any rules here.

My '98 VW Jetta TDI is getting pretty long in the tooth, and I am seeking a replacement. I would prefer to find a 2006 Sport, but beggars can't be choosers and all that yadda. I would really prefer to buy one from a member of this board, because I figure it will probably be better maintained and have most if not all the mods/upgrades/recalls that I want already done. While I would prefer to find a unit located within the state of North Carolina or within a "one state over" radius (SC, TN, VA, GA), I would be willing to travel a wee bit further for the right machine.

Yes, I've been poking around in there and I've found two different units that tickle my fancy. However, I was hoping to stumble onto something a little bit closer to home. There's a couple on the local Craigslist, but they are all at used car dealers and I would prefer NOT to buy one from a place like that, for reasons that should be obvious.

I bought mine used from a dealership, only had 18,8.. something on the ticker and was driven by an older woman. Prime buy. Good luck.

All the ones at dealers in this area are high mileage, NO history of any kind available on them...and the asking price is at or above NADA "clean retail".
