Possibly heading down for 2 weeks with the Military to work with the locals. Still trying to get things figured out, but will hit you up more when I know more.

Thanks

Yes let me know when you know more.
Its not a big city say like Chicago, big but way different of course
some really nice areas along the coast
but I travel where the locals do so I see the gritty side of things
PM me when you know though

Got her back home, total of 3 hours. Got her home, food in her belly, now she is taking a nap. Hopefully she heals fine and doesn't have any issues with it.

Having a diesel KJ sucks sometimes..... I should get rid of the clevis lift, but I don't want to...:| How much was that CV boot again? LOL. It sits at full droop in this pic, I think I can get away with it. Fitted a thicker top plate (8mm) and 790's today... :D

Image

Tom, what we were talking about: there is a hole already in the cup and chasis. There goes my nutzert  There are only 3 spotwelds holding the cup, you can see one to the left of the hole. But I dunno...nutzerts are not that sturdy. Maybe we'd better just leave it alone and I'll try the Daystar bolt in bumpstomps.

Image

For some reason the '02 has longer OEM bumpstops then the later models. Mine are 6cm in diameter and 9cm in lenght. That is 2,36x3,54 in inches. I am also going to try and fit my TJ spacer inbetween the OEM isolators. Seems like there is about 3/8 left on the cup, maybe that will work since the TJ spacer is flat, doesn't have the 'texture' the KJ isolators have...

Image

BTW here is why everything is so muddy, I got most of it off but..this stuff sticks like glue!

This is why vending machines need to be eliminated. (I didn't do it.)

Back home, now to catch up on whats been happening
Had a great day yesterday, took off with my Mom and Step Dad, we did over 55 miles and only hit pavement when crossong over one state road. All werre one lane dirt roads, did 7 creek crossings. They have messed them up since they made a concrete pad in the bottom of the creek now but still have to drive through the water.
Stopped at 3 old cemeteries, even stopped and said hello to my Dad, Grandmother, and several other relation on my dads side. They were all resting pretty good they said.
OH,...Got 7.2 MPGs while doing the back roads :ROTFL:
Well now to unload the Heep and spend 20 bucks hosing it off :banghead: :JEEPIN:

Sounds like you had a good time Tom, nice of you to take your old folk for a ride.. :JEEPIN: 7.2 MGP

Here's another random idea, what if I cut of part of the clevis....there is no shock body there anyway with the clevis lift...

Image

Oh crap...that would involve taking out the battery tray again...so I can loosen the shock nuts...darn...I did a lift last week, mine this past Saturday, next Saturday I'm doing another lift, I'm kinda all lifted out for now LOL.

BTW I tried to replace the silent blocks in the LCA's, the ones the clevis sits on and I could not get the old ones out. Other then taking them copletely off the KJ and putting them under a hydrolic press I have no idea how to replace them. Any ideas? I know Jeep has a special tool for them...Buy new LCA's isn't an option, I already bought the silent blocks.. :banghead:

interesting thought on cutting that clevis, but what if it doesn't work, got a spare one laying AROUND? Angles don't look too bad from the way I am looking at them. Run her and see how it does, only another CV boot or another tear down :-)r
rear does need to go up some

OK you can come as well
Will be a long trip for you, its 5 hours from here, but fun. I did over 50 miles before I had to cross a blacktop road. The picture shows the best part we were on all day I think, Nothing hard only had to lock in one time going up out of Spooky Hollow, and thats just due to a tree I had to drive over and it being washed out right there. We could do that plus drive through 4 to 5 covered bridges, 3 others that are closed to traffic but can walk through. Camp out on the Ohio River, couple of very small drinking establishments
