2006 Liberty Limited CRD. Started activating abs when stopping. You can feel/hear pump. Stops normally. Some days all the time. then Traction Control started acting up so when you pull away from a stop sign, the icon starts flashing and it applys the brakes/takes away throttle. It got so bad it would stop you in the intersection and only go if you pushed the "override" button. Now all the lights(abs/traction control, esp)are on. The speedometer and brakes work fine. Only thing that is inop when the warning lamps are lit is the cruise control.

I pulled codes U0121 Lost communication with antilock brake system, U0002 Can C bus off performance, CXXXX code 74 sys ctrl mode time out.I pulled codes with a generic can2 obd + abs reader. I followed the service manual and will be replacing module and getting it programmed at the dealer. I will update.

Has anyone else had any of these issues?

I had the same exact symptoms and found out that it was one of my wheel hubs. On take off the traction control would kick in and after a while it would just shut it self off.

My best bet would be a wheel hub. Have you noticed to what side the jeep pulls when the traction control is going off?

I could feel mine pulled on the front drivers side wheel. I talked to a friend and he said to replace the passenger side wheel hub. Ive put 1k on the new wheel hub with no problems.

Hope this helps!

I had a similar problem and it ended up being on of the wheel hubs. I guess if the hub is worn the computer get intermittent signals from the wheel sensor and you get the ABS/EPS lights on.

What threw me for a loop was that there wasn't any codes for any speed sensors. I inspected all the wiring front and rear. I have read that the rear harness can be problematic. I was leaning towards a hub initially because of the intermitant abs cycling.I wish I had a good scan tool like an otc genysis so I could watch speed signals while these issues are occuring. We have only had the jeep since october. It has acted up intermitantly since we have had it. Only in the last two weeks has all the lights stayed lit on every start. I even disconnected a speed sensor to see if i could get a code. It never set one.
