Be prepared to chnage again soon.

Timkin(most made in USA),SKF(some made in USA,others in Japan or Germany),or National are the only brands of bearings worth buying anymore.

The problem you see with most of the cheap hubs isn't the assembly going bad, it's the abs sensor. I just picked one up from rockauto for $45. It's by GMB. Although they have only been producing hubs For a few years, they've been in business for over 30.

If GMB builds hub bearings like they do water pumps I'd run far and fast.

The ABS sensor is the cheap part,$12 at the dealership.

I've used Timkin on three different vehicles and never had a problem.

It's with sadness I report that I just got back from Orielly auto parts after trying to pick up my front wheel hub/bearings for my CRD. Did you know that Moog (Federal Mogal, National & TRW) is now made in China! And @ an insulting $209.99 each for made in China junk. What a f*%$ing insult. A sad state of affairs when Moog sells out to the cheap Chines slave labor profit dream...... So off I go to find out if Timken or SKF have sold out as well (and kept the price at US made prices for Chines crap).

So much for the saying "you get what you pay for". I thought I was paying a high price for a quality product, but it was nothing more then a cheap knock off in a pretty box. Be careful guys! Warranty or not, this import junk from China is dangerous and when is comes to steering parts...... Playing with fire.

Well I can say that I ended up purchasing the Timkin bearings from Amazon.com. They are made in Canada and are very nice quality and only cost $154.36 with free shipping. SKF never returned my phone call or e-mails. So if your in the market for wheel bearings, Timkin all the way.... Stay clear of the anything made by Federal Mogal any more. There not what they were a year ago. I hate Global Sourcing.

As I needed to replace my set of front bearing (passed the 100 Kmiles on my CRD), I though I would look at what you LOST guys recommend.... very bad idea!
If you guys think the prices in the US is high, check this out:
Price where i live, checked this am at my local Jeep dealer:
Left hand side: 594$
Right hand side: ...772$ (and yes, i know how to use the XR rate)
Needless to say that for that price they are in solid gold (which worns out pretty fast actually !!) :furious:

...and i really like the commercial touch of pricing the right hand side one 30% more expensive. I guess that as people replace this one more often (more prone to hit pavements /holes/rocks), the commercial guys thought there was no reason not to make a bit more money on them.... :grim: I love these guys !!!

By the way, its really hard to find a US shop that sells Temkin (i don't buy CN) and ship to Europe.....but am sure i will find one ..... :goink:

Topan,

have you tied to buy the part from the UK? sound mad but, I have been purchasing odd parts from non Jeep dealership and they have been the same part at a 30/40% less cost. See if these guys can help you & I thing they ship to mainland Europe : http://stores.ebay.co.uk/jeepchryslerparts. They are very quick in answering back to you, just make sure you have the correct part number to quote. I know I will be ordering my next wheel bearing from them when the time comes.

Fil.

hi!
good site! thanks!
Indeed, prices seem lower than in CH.
I have asked them for a quote for a set of wheel bearings.
Have you notice if their products where OEM or chinese copies ? :roll
