Hi all,
Trying to diagnose an electrical problem I am having. My passenger tail light keeps blowing out. Im getting pulled over all the time for it and keep replacing the bulb. I look for any cuts or abrasions on the wiring and cant find anything. Anyone know a better way of diagnosing this issue. Im about to just take it to a mechanic if i cant figure it out soon
Thanks
Sam

Three things make bulbs burn out: Excessive voltage, excessive vibration, and water.
If it is burning out even when dry then it is too much voltage or too much vibration.

Since it is the same bulb that is always burning out, try and pry on the metal contact to give it a tighter fit.

Or you could just cheat and put in LED replacements.

Check the bulb holder,if it's melted a little on the inside that could be your issue.Swap the brake light holder for the turn signal holder(same bulb and holder) to see if that helps.

I had an issue where a piece of plastic came loose in the tailight and rested on bulbs and blew them constantly. Had to remove it and never had an issue again.

Needle nose pliers. You could also try and wedge it in there and it might work. But yeah I kept blowing bulbs and wondering why until I saw that piece rattling around.
