Hey people. My 05 limited wants a rear view mirror with Bluetooth, I currently have the auto dimming mirror so that harness is available. This is my question. What else do I need besides the Bluetooth mirror to get it working? Any extra harnesses needed? modules? does that mirror has a self contained Bluetooth module?
Help is appreciated, it has been a while that my limited its been asking for that mirror.

what are you want the mirror to do?
cell phone?
power a cell phone?

bluetooth is wireless protocol like wifi..a means to communicate..but what?

bluetooth can talk computer to computer
cell phone to bluetooth headset
?

sorry your question is vague

It depends on the model of mirror.
Most are self contained, they just require some power.

Some might need an external speaker, so you'd have to figure that out.

Good luck!!

Get a Magellan RoadMate 9055-LM GPS instead and your CRD becomes a hands free bluetooth search engine with a 7 inch touchscreen and a rearview backup camera.

http://www.magellangps.com/Products/Roa ... te-9055-LM

It is the clearest bluetooth device that I have ever owned and the GPS directional is superb, just make sure it is compatible with your phone before you buy.

I have previously owned 6 other GPS navigation devices, that are still in service in other cars and this MAG-9055-LM is by far the best and the one I keep.

Forget about ever needing a rear view mirror again because you can add the available rear view camera device to it and you get an incredibly clear rear view mirror on the same screen that automatically activates as soon as you engage the transmission into reverse.

http://www.magellangps.com/Products/Roa ... -up-Camera

I am sure that technology will get better and better as time goes on, but for now this device is the best non OEM hands free driving experience for our vehicles out there that I know of and no I don't work for the company.

I would love it even more if it could connect to the Torque APP so that I could read all the engine vitals.

what I want to do is to have the Bluetooth service (use my phone through the rear view mirror) as it is on some limited CRDs, so I was wandering what would I need to get it done? Thanks for your comments.

camo - I don't know how prices and wiring would work out but just want to note there are aftermarket radio options that have Bluetooth and can be combined with a device that keeps steering wheel radio controls if you have them. Crutchfield has a good selection. Stock I had the 6 CD changer with the premium sound system and now I'm running a Sony MEX-BT3900U with an Axxess steering wheel interface. Total cost ca. $250 with a DIY install. Bluetooth phone works just fine thru it.

nice link. I guess I would not have to buy the radio as the 6 CD radio on mine has the same connections on the back. Do you know if that would be true?

i don't know if you will need the RB1 or not i have been able to do things that they say you can't do with the 6 disk RBQ. they say you cant have the RBQ and the cd changer in the back but i do 6 disks in the head unit and 10 disks in the changer in the back

also here is some good info that may also help http://wjjeeps.com/radios.htm alot of the info goes along with the KJ
