My wife's '05 Libby has recently developed a sticking accelerator. No toyota issues, checked that first  It's not even the gas pedal or cable, but in the throttle body somewhere. It feels as if there is sand inside the throttle shaft causing it to stick, sometimes at high rpm.
Anyone ever have this issue? I'm thinking I may have carbon buildup under the butterfly plate causing it to hang up. I currently have a carb return spring on it until I can figure it out.

I figured it out. It appears when I installed new shocks a few weeks ago, I must've pushed the drive by wire control unit too far over when removing upper shock bolts and cracked the plastic housing causing cable to drag and stick accelerator open. Luckily was able to reapir it and working fine.

BE careful when doing front shocks and removing the accelerator control unit on pass side.

Glad you found it! Never would of thought of that happening but guess it can
My agency supplied Taurus or whatever that thing is, sticks every 3-4000 miles , just have to clean the throttle body on it though
