I'm in the process of changing the Transfer case switch and couldn't figure out how to release the connector that goes to the t.case switch. I see a tab but pulling it out does nothing to ease the release of the connector, and putting it inwards doesn't either. What's the correct way to get it off?

If you're talking about the cheap white plastic part connected to the end of the shift cable, it has a black rubber bushing inside that just slides onto/off of the selector pin. It should slide off from passenger side to drivers side. I think you just need need some more force. Mine kept popping off by itself, until I reengineered it

Edit... Never mind, you're talking about wiring connectors. Those things are a pain...

Yeah, it's the black connector cable that attaches to the transfer case switch/sensor. I couldn't get it off for anything! I pulled the tab and everything but it wouldn't budge. It's almost like it's seized. I'm not sure what to do at this point. :furious:

some of the connectors have a flat spot under the tab that you expose when you pull the tab back. Press on it firmly as you gently but firmly pull back on the connector. Good luck.
