After seeing so many stock alternator pulleys here fail, a member tried the Facet Reactiv pulley, which uses springs inside instead of a clutch. It worked as far as damping, but the springs inside broke in short order.
See viewtopic.php?f=5&t=62479

In searching around, I found this

http://www.ct-drives.com/pulley-comparison.html

It uses polymer compression spring elements that can't break like steel springs. They sell one model on ebay.

What was interesting to me is the last feedback listed from customers. Someone said it at least fit the CRD.

Feel free to comment. I'm thinking about getting one just to see the before/after difference in the tensioner movement and do some durability testing on the CRD.

This is what the autozone remans come with.

Buyers beware Autozone remans. Any success stories with them from members?

I've been running an Autozone alternator for ~10k miles. It has a lifetime warranty, so i'll just return it if there's any problem.

That's good to know. Maybe the failed one was just a fluke because of the wobble in it. Does yours have the Facet pulley on it? (Reactiv or Positork or whatever). How's the tensioner movement at idle?

Also I just noticed that the text of the CT Drives website is in part blatantly plagiarized from the Facet website. hmmm... :?
