I like my TJ bumper. Don't have money for a RL bumper and not everyone has to jump on the bandwagon.

Let's not get an argument started, because I can sense one stirring up.

You didn't answer my question. Based on the photos, the TJ bumper failed, which put force and stress on the other parts of the Jeep. I'm making an observation. I know that RL builds his bumpers to withstand impact, so it's something worth noting for those who are in the market for bumpers. That's why i bought an ARB front bumper, they are made to take the impact, plus they are designed for the airbag.

I see the humor behind your post. But in all honesty, the OE bumper would have probably resulted with less damage than the TJ bumper. I’ve seen Insurance companies deny claims because the OE bumper was removed.

Diesel,I agree with your post. You never know with the insurance companies. I hope that doesn't happen.

Having been though this ordeal myself, I respectfully think that if the impact is above a certain speed, you're going to get significant damage to the unibody no matter what bumper you have. My Cherokee with an OEM bumper got forced off the road and hit a cement barrier at 30-35 mph and it bent the unibody as far back as the drivers door frame and the roof above the passenger's door. The rear seat would no longer lay flat because the whole body got twisted, and the front door wouldn't close all the way. I think if that big F150 was traveling at the 30 mph he said he was (or more likely faster), I would expect it would cause unibody "frame" damage to the Liberty because the force of the impact would not only be absorbed by the bumper, but the whole vehicle. Damage might be localized to the front of the F150 truck because it has body-on-frame construction.

On top of this damage, I'm getting weird noises from my engine bay. It almost sounds like a supercharger. I have a feeling my serp belt maybe going ker-put. I looked at the belt and in some places on the side of the belt...it's frayed.
I would have to agree with the post above though about the whole bumper issue. Surprisingly everything is going very quickly with the insurance company.

I think the heading should be changed, or we should define what "WON" means.

Have a look at the truck that rear ended me. That is the definition of WON.

There should have been more damage to my KJ than there is now. My spare tire took most of the impact. It's my lucky spare now :-)
Very surprised my rear hatch glass didn't shatter. It should have considering how hard the KJ was rear ended.

I know what you mean. When I think of “won”, I think of walking away from an accident knowing that my Jeep has very little damage. I wouldn’t call screwing up my Jeep, “winning”. I wonder if the Jeep is declared totaled, if it’s still a victory? :juggle:

So I took a muscle relaxer late last night for my neck and so I could sleep. About 20-30 minutes later I started feeling weird, like an allergic reaction. I drove myself to the ER (10 miles away roughly). They gave me some meds and then I left a few hours later. Nothing like getting Benadryl through an IV. Doing better now but I don't know how much more surprises like this and Jeep problems I can take. Shesh!!!!

You need to stop taking meds, you keep having these allergic reactions. Glad to hear your ok this time.

Haha I know!!! This past September I had an anaphylactic reaction to Rocephin, a 3rd cousin to Penicillin. A few days before ECS 2011 but I didn't let that stop me from going!!! :-) :-) :-)
I'm ready for the Jeep/insurance stuff to be over with.
