Grease them
anytime you install new parts that have a grease zerk you need to pump some grease into them

X2............

Plus don't forget to grease them at least every oil change and everytime you get back from a offroad trip.

Hey guys, on this same topic - I'm installing my Franky II, Al's arms, and Moog LBJ next weekend (just arrived in the mail last night!). I'm completely new to zerk fittings and I've been looking around, but I can't seem to find an answer that gives me a "warm and fuzzy". Forgive my ignorance, but how do you know when you have greased enough? Is there a firmness that I should look for? Should I install first and then grease when installed, or prior to installation? I'd really appreciate someone walking me through this. Oh, and what kind of grease/grease gun would you recommend? Thanks guys!

Grease "after" installation
to know how much after the part is installed the "boot" will be empty, pump grease into it until the boot is filled but not coming out around it
If you go into any parts store they will have different types of grease, get the kind for ball joints etc
When buying a grease gun get one that has a flexible hose, makes it easier to get into tighter places
When installing the lower ball joints make sure the grease fitting is pointing to the front or rear, if installed to the side it will make it really hard to grease it properly

Thanks Tom. One more question for you - to maintain the ball joints I should fill with grease every oil change, but to what level? Should I just ensure that the grease is filled back to the "filled but not overflowing" level, or should I (is there a way to) flush the grease that is in the ball joint out and fill with new grease? Like I said, I'm new to this type of maintenance, and I appreciate your patience and quick response!

-Tommy

Just fill until the boot is full
if you overfill water/dirt can get in and wear out the parts faster
