Ive found anything below 1900rpm (1800 is acceptable, it's between 60-64mph). Best I got was 26.7 but it was new, pure stock.
Put over 30k miles in one year on it driving between Detroit-Chicago so I had lots of time to "play" with the speed. In the city, it's been around 15-18.
Now, I hit 20-22 hwy, 13-15 city. I've added 255-65/16's, total under body armor, stage 2 rock rails from JCR offroad (they are just darn heavy), rear hitch and 3 ball/1hook rcvr, front bug deflector and roof rack/rails. Needless to say, I'm now looking for a lift to gain what I lost with all that weight as far as ground clearance goes. But, I'll never get back my MPG (looked at my window sticker this morning, 15/21 so I'm at EPA standards I guess). I also run a K&N airfilter. It does remind me of a red clay brick on wheels, sorta like something I've served on (see below)

Basiclly, I can get 300 miles out of a tank if I take it really easy. 260 when I need to be somewhere in a hurry and thats more then not. I've had Escape and CRV owners ask me why my mileage is at pumps. When I tell them depends if Im going to Kroger for milk

or if I'm doing something that will take me 2 weeks to wash all the mud out from under it (or as the wife says, "looks like an elephant has been pooping in the driveway), or if I'm pulling our boy scouts 3500lb trailer. Then I ask, how about you? I then remind them that without all my addons, I'm pushing 4200lbs. That ends the conversation.
