My wife and I are considering trading in or selling outright her 2006 CRD Sport. It has just over 67K, as of now. She put 21K on it since August 2011. We are thinking of getting a TDI wagon given the amount of driving she does, and the rising costs of fuel... Nothing is for sure. I have done all of the service thus far, on time. It has the slush mats, cargo mat/tray, cargo cover, new Jeep spare tire cover, Michelin LTX tires (about 75% tread left), brakes good. I have done the ORM, so the CEL is always on. It just had the tranny/F&R axle/transfer case serviced. It is in immaculate shape. It had a minor accident last fall when the wife hit a deer. It was fixed with OE Jeep parts at the Jeep dealer and they did a fantastic job. We are in DE for the week visiting family/friends and working on our property here, we got 29.8mpg last take going 75 mph. I am wondering what is it worth trade in/outright? It is Jeep green with khaki cloth interior. Thanks!

Don't know. Not even sure if we are selling it or trading it in at all yet. May know more tomorrow. If the dealer offers me a decent price we may trade it in. It depends. There is also another forum member that has expressed interest. I'd like to know what the realistic value is on it, not the screw book value. Prices seem all over the place on these things lately. Diesels always have brought good prices, but I have never really watched prices on these CRD's. I will start though, haha. I don't yet have pics as we are in DE until Wednesday early AM. Will try to get a few. It's in immaculate shape in and out. I keep good care of it and keep it clean and maintained. It has not been abused or beaten. The miles are all highway... Mainly rural driving on the highway.

On a trade-in with a dealership, don't be surprised if they offer you $8000-$8500 for it (unless they really hosed you the cost of the new vehicle you are trading it in on). They'll give you the typical nobody wants to buy a diesel, diesel fuel costs 60cents more per gallon, blah..blah..blahh. You are better off to sell it outright then trade it in. Since you are live in the Eastern side of our wonderful country, you can probably get a great deal from Chris Farnham at CFarnham@VWofLAnghorne.com 215-741-4100 http://vwoflanghorne.com, he sells TDIs at prices very few dealerships can match.

I'll offer you $500 above what the dealership offers you on a trade in ;-)

Don't do it. I regretted trading off our first CRD for months afterwards. Now I am in our second CRD and doing all the delayed maintenance the first owner didn't do... the only thing I didn't like about our first one was that it was red... at least this new one is blue. Ill miss the leather seats but I can fix that too!

Have not done anything. I have some interest in it currently, but the VW dealer offered $10K, and were shocked to see a diesel Liberty. They were impressed, but I stressed that we are in absolutely no rush to buy a new car, or to "unload" our otherwise perfectly fine Jeep. Its in great shape, and still serves us well. That said, if someone was really interested in making an offer on it, I'll consider it. Again, we are in no rush or dire need to sell it. Its just a thought and a bit of planning ahead.

Still going back and forth on this idea. I figured if we got $11,500, we'd sell it or trade it in. Not sure how feasible that is though. Looking for something more economical for my wife's 120 mile a day commute. We'll be taking the Jeep on vacation to Alabama, and we will likely make a decision once we get back. Had lots of interest, but everyone wants it dirt cheap (can't blame them). It currently has 72K on it, and I have been changing the oil every 4K, changing the air filter every 8-10K, fuel filter every 10K. The transmission fluid and front/rear diff/transfer case oil was done at 62K. It's in immaculate shape inside and out.

Thanks everyone, but it looks like we'll be trading it in. I got offered $11,100 for it in trade in on a new Subaru Outback. My wife really wanted one, and she is scared of the Jeep, which is partially my fault for telling here that some parts are on backorder, etc. She cannot afford any down time with it, so after thinking and discussing, she and I decided it was best to move on. I wish we had the extra money, and I would keep the Jeep as my car, but it is not in the cards at this time. Perhaps i'll get another down the road.
