Around here it seems that 80% of all Jeeps are driven by women.

I've seen a couple MW3 Jeeps in the past week or so. All driven by men and all with DoD tags. Of course I live right outside a military base so I'm sure that has something to do with it

I found a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited website that catered to young women with babies. The website focused on families, especially women who wanted to drive something sporty instead of driving a minivan. I don’t remember all the details, but the 4 door JK was designed to safely accommodate a baby seat. There seems to be a trend, perhaps a fad, for women of all ages to be driving a Jeep. I know my wife likes the Wrangler much better than the KJ. When asking her if she would rather have a VW TDI that gets 50 mpg or a Wrangler that gets 20 mpg, she looked at me like I was stupid.

On the way through Albuquerque, Sarah asked if we could stop at CASA Jeep. I was surprised to learn that they are selling the AEV Hemi Jeep Wranglers new on the lot. It’s $15,000 additional on top of the Jeep. AEV has some really cool bumpers and other features besides the Hemi swaps.

Anyway, Sarah has it narrowed down to what she wants.

I agree Sarah deserves it (a AEV decked out JK) for nothing else putting up with him all this time. Plus she would more than likely let you drive every now and again.

To be honest, she makes a little bit more money than I do, so yeah, I got to treat her good.....or else...... :dead:

Good idea Troy! The sales person at Casa (who’s a really cool lady and not pushy at all) gave us a Mopar accessory brochure that showed the Mopar JK-8 Conversion Kit. She said that CASA has already built and sold one for a customer. I thought the kit was supposed to be a bolt-in kit; however, she said their body shop had to do welding and a few other major modifications. Basically, it’s a permanent setup once installed.

around here most Wranglers are driven by women - they buy them because they're convertibles.....great for drives to the lake

you can get JK's, TJ's and even a few YJ's - that have never been put in 4wd......

That's not a J8,it was built by Nemssis offroad/BOR in Denver and yes can be bought at a dealership.BOR HEMI swaps are now even offered by Chrysler at there dealerships.

Are those a different kit than what's shown in the Mopar accessories brochure? I thought the mopar kit was suppose to be a bolt-in package? Whatever Casa installed required a lot of welding and bodywork. I'm pretty sure she told me it was the Mopar kit.

CASA was selling the AEV hemi swaps at the dealership. They had a guy who would drive to Montana and pick them up for customers.

Her favorite color is the Crush Orange. She's still thinking about 2 door vs 4 door. She definitely wants the mismatched (black) top instead of the painted matching top. I took this picture because it had the color scheme she wanted. I don’t think she would go for a Rubicon, although I tested the water just to see what she would say. :SOMBRERO:

Image

Her second favorite color was gecko.

Image

Her third favorite color was between Dozer and Flame Red.

I really don't like those body color painted tops. the only one I could be ok with would be a white top. The rest look way better in black.

We agree. Those matching colored tops don't look as good as they do on the TJ. I've seen a few people who had their TJ tops painted to match, and those looked fairly good.

The dealer was really good about offering to switch colored tops for black tops or silver Moab’s for the black painted Moab’s, etc. I love the black wheels but Sarah doesn't. :banghead:

black wheels look like booty.

You should really get the 4door, much more useful than a 2 door.

Wow, I just found out that they offer loans for up to 84 months (7 years). Oh, and credit score isn’t a huge deal. Apparently they can get you into a jeep without any problems. No wonder people are buying new cars in this economy. Isn’t this the same type of carelessness that got us into the housing crisis? :juggle:

We need to get our finances in order. Sarah suggested that we pay off the travel trailer before taking on the Jeep payment. I concur. The Wrangler monthly payments will be similar to the RV payments, therefore there won’t be any “budgeting” required. We decided to cut a few more expenses to help alleviate future fuel demands, insurance, etc. I canceled XM at home ($8.00 per month) and Sirius ($12.00 per month) in the truck. Sarah dropped DISH down to the lowest package, which was a savings of $48.00 per month. So far, that’s a noticeable savings of $68.00 dollars per month. I’m looking at a few more ways to cut spending.
