Just purchased a 05' CRD with what appears to be a jumped tooth only the tb. The engine fired up but did have a tapping sound coming from the head. I have removed everything to get to the tb, but just wondering if there is a write up for removing the valve cover so I could look at the rockers and lifters? I have used the search and seen some pictures, but just asking if there is a step by step or what i should look out for, thanks

pull the rear cover, pull the injectors, pull the fuel rail, remove the wiring harness from teh plugs on the passenger side of the engine bay, drape it over the drivers side fender.

remove all the 10mm bolts holding it down, pull it out, drip oil EVERYWHERE

look at the noob guide for the links to the FSM, mostly useful for seeing where all the bolts are that need to come out.

Hope you have all the miller specific tools, you are going to need them for this job.
