Four-wheel Brake Traction Control System (BTCS)

http://www.autoshowny.com/vehicle/2006/jeep_liberty.shtml

Is that new in 2006 Liberty? and a must-have feature? :)
Does anyone know?

I have it on my 06 KJ Sport... Give 2 weeks when I take it on some testing in Uwharrie and I will let you know how it does.. If it doesn't live up to the hype.. Then I am going to have a LSD or an ARB rear locker installed...

So far I am impressed with this system offroad, I've noticed on some climbs that I had no wheelspin and friends in Land Rovers did have some (not bad) wheelspin. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a chance to try it out even more at Superlift ORV park in Hot Springs. For me this was a selling point for the '06.

I'm glad It's on my truck. the ABS/ERM/TC is great and has saved me more than once already.

however, accerateing on wet roads it still spins one back tire, so I put it in full-time 4x4 if it rains.

I want a mopar LSD for it in the rear, ESP or not, mechanical traction = good

BTCS comes with the 2006 Liberty or
it is something optional you have to order if you want?

I didn't find anything about it on the jeep website.

I guess Jeep replaces the Trac-loc with the BTCS.

Yes, it comes standard, and it works really well. I was gonna say the between the TCS and the Wrangler Silent Armors, we can accelerate on wet pavement all we want and never slip. I've used it in some light offroading and other than the yellow light on the dash we couldn't even tell it was doing anything. (other than working great)

Hugely impressed with the ETC and stability control. Like that you automatically get lessened ETC (allows more wheel spin) and stability off when in 4low.

Was just screwing around on a small quad trail behind an industrial park this wknd. Ended up on two very steep hill climbs and a couple of creek crossings with steep ascents in/out. Lib handled most in 2 wheel drive with traction control humming away.

Also tried to get the jeep out of control by doing every stupid/rookie mistake possible in the snow this winter and the stability control brought the truck right back straight every time. Buddy driving behind me was shocked how the system pulled a couple severe "tank slappers" back straight. Gives a lot of confidence when I hand the truck over to the GF. But, just push the little button on the steering column for ETC "off" and donut time as usual!
