^^^^ those are pretty cool... i'd get those instead of the ones i posted. i think smittybuilt would be better quality. Do they have any extra padding where you sit/back?? also are they made out of canvas?

The headrest is part of the seat...it isnt detachable. The covers are held to the seat back by 2" wide velcro strips that really keep things snug. One of those strips goes over the top of the headrest, but could probably go underneath if your headrest is adjustable.

Not canvas, but it's pretty heavy duty cordura. No padding. The only problem we've had with them is that one of the seams on the seat cover part split...I probably ought to cut back on the bacon cheeseburgers.

Yours are a LOT cleaner! Mine have faded a bit and have a lovely patina of dirt ground into the fiber.

Thanks. I've only had them for over a year so all in due time will they fade and get ruined.

I have the GEAR universal fit in Coyote tan and they are pretty good. They are getting sun-faded now, but I think it adds to the character :D I only used a few of the pouches that came with it; most of the pouches I use are from military sets as I found they suited my usage better, but the improvement in in-vehicle stowage is terrific! I tend to re-rig every few months - but that's largely because I'm one of those people who have to fiddle with things in the mistaken belief that I'm making improvements

Well I have ordered a set in Black and they have arrived, just haven't had the time to fit them yet, I will post pictures later ( just need to clear the KJ before I fit them it's still a bit mucky from the last outing  ...).

I got the full set for Christmas a year and a half ago. Get the "universal" type...they fit the KJ just fine. You'll have to play around with the little hooks and cords that secure the covers to the underside of your seat. My sister got the set from a website that offered the tailgate cover for free if you bought two seat covers...the tailgate cover is made for a Wrangler, but with a few short self-tapping screws I managed to secure the cover to the back gate of the Libby with no problem.

Here's Smittybilt's page for the GEAR covers.... http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/53.htm

Here's a shot of our Libby with the covers in place...

Pics of he tailgate cover please.

I keep our tow strap rolled up in the bag on the left. The bag next to it carries our small air compressor. The bag on the right has a light jacket, stocking cap and gloves. The whole assembly is secured to the gate with self-tapping screws that go through eyelets in the cover.

By the way, I now have the music stuck in my head from the scene where Big Jim Slade makes his entrance in Kentucky Fried Movie...thanks.

I like the look of that tailgate cover - I see you also have an entrenching tool on it - mine is strapped to the back of the back seat with a bungee :) . Do the self-tappers into the plastic support the weight of that kit ok?

So far, so good. The plastic is pretty thick, and there's 7 or 8 screws holding it in place.

The entrenching tool was the first item we ceremoniously placed in the Jeep when we took delivery. Three weeks prior to purchase, we had rented a Liberty on a trip to Oregon, and had a bit of trouble on a fire road near Crater Lake...

Image

Street tires and a rotting snowbank...not a good combo. We tried digging ourselves out...did you know that you can use the lens hood from a Nikon as a shovel?...but to no avail. Hooray for AAA!

Here's a link that tells the whole sad story: http://www.nls.net/mp/cameraflage/oregon_4_jeep.html

Pretty much every place online that I've seen them has a price of $99 per seat, with the gate cover thrown in for free if you buy a set of two seat covers. Google Smittybilt G.E.A.R. seat covers and you'll see.

I have the wet okole seat covers in my kj. Had them for several years and I highly recommend them. They are a bit $$ but well worth IMHO.

Hi,

finaly got round to fitting them my seat covers from Rugged Ridge. They look great (need still to settle a bit as you can see from the photos) and they have made the seat a lot more confortable (well at least on the short journey to work this morning). I still haven't yet managed to tie them down proparly and the only point of confiousion when fitting them was that I had to fit the bases the opposit to the instruction so to have the little pocked on the side available to use. Also the nice thing is that my old water proof covers actually go over them for when it rains or it get realy muddy.

Here are the photos for now:
