I mounted mine under the passenger seat and used the seat frame to screw the amp down on one side and the other side rests on the carpeted hump that goes to the center console. It is a medium sized MTX amp probably 8x9 inches or so and it fits great. Just mount it far enough forward that it won't be kicked by rear passengers.

I put mine under the rear seat (driver's side). It made running the wires a lot cleaner and its easy access just in case I have to tweak the settings. Its a perfect spot and don't worry about having the seat folded down. There is plenty of air to circulate and the seat doesn't touch the amp itself.

I built an amp rack in the back, but I now have zero cargo space back there. The amps are huge, they wouldn't fit anywhere else.

All I have to say is kick @$$ setup. I was dead set on fiber glass but seeing how clean the wood is with the carpet I am kinda confused on what I want to do. Great set up!

Thanks, I spent a lot of time on it and the carpet was a good color match I think. Fiberglass is cool looking also, but I haven't learned it YET. My buddy is pretty good with it and we may try to make a similar set up with fiberglass, who knows.

If you do let me know what you are going to do with the box you have now... if I haven't already got the fiberglassing done!

Hi,
i have installed one aftermarket, with an amplifier.

I have open my 2002 radio, found the pre-amp pins, and connected to a sub amplifier.

If you want to see my work go to http://andrea70.jtv.cc

The article is in Italian but the pictures can also explain.

Ciao

Wow, that looks like alot of work. If I were to keep the stock radio I would look into a JL cleansweep or something like that, I think that wouldn't be as difficult. Good job though, that's more than I would attempt. Aftermarket is the way for me. :D

...and my Sub-woofer...as Heineken Beer Spot .....Sounds Good.

I've made this choice for various things:

- here in Italy there aren't accessories for Jeep Liberty (harness etc...)
- the steering wheel comands are so confortable
- bought the car, my wife "...and the radio too? noooo!!!"

I would like change the tweeter and the woofer but i have no time...

...lifted with 1.5' OME, put the MOOG Lower Ball Joint...

...and the speakers are still there!!!

I put the amp on top of the box and used a heavy duty wire tie to secure the box to the top bracket where the seat connects to. I will post an update pic tomorrow with the amp in it.

I also installed a tv in the back seat for passengers

With a wire job like that looks like you may need that fire extingisher soon (sorry) but i'm a big fan of a clean, no wire showing install.

Love what you did with that trail rated badge on the back of the cargo rack, that's an awesome idea. I've always loved your whole audio set-up, wanna make a commute to central NJ to help me with mine?

I will admit that my setup is still a work in progress. When i am done, you wont see most of the wires (except the ones for disconnecting my external Hard drive and PS2).

Nice setup sqliberty. I would love to do a bit more, but don't want to sacrifice the room in it. I am on my way out to take updated pics, and I won't post them full rez. Sorry about that on the other pics.
