So I did the rear Diff today. It was about 100 degrees here in denver and the tube of silicone sealant popped as I was squeezing it out to form the gasket. I smeared it around with my finger, but by the time I got it done it had already hardened and it didn't seem to be working too well. So I decided I would pop it on, fill it with oil(which I assumed would leak out pretty quickly), and drive it quickly to a shop down the street I know the guys at to have it changed by them. So I did all that, and it's not leaking out. Now I've read that it can be hard to get a good seal on it when you know what you're doing and follow the directions, but I did it completely wrong, and it's not leaking. So only question is, as long as its not leaking, I'm good, right?
Also, I like the Solid cover, but I wish I had known the crane was a colorado company. I would have gone that route. But The solid was a good price and if, or when, it starts to fail, I will replace it with a crane.
