Just dropped off the Jeep to get re-geared and DTTs in front & back.

going from 3.73s on 245/75/16 to 4.10s

How much of a difference will this make? at the moment it cant get out of its own way and will start to overheat going up hills with the A/C on and my heavy foot. I'm also getting 14 mpg on a good day.

Helped mine a ton
even with the extra weight of front/rear bumpers/heavier skids / rock rails etc
I pull 20-21 easy all the time on the hiway at 70 plus
You'll notice it will not shift down as much, will run cooler and easier when regeared

It helps a lot. With the 245s you might even be able to chirp the tires:)

4:10's are an excellent upgrade.
Especially off road.

that combination will blow your mind. 4.10's are a must especially with an auto

i had a 6 speed.. went from 3.55's to 4.10's (with 265/75/16's) and a detroit locker.
i could roast the tires through 2 gears

I'm curious how much this cost you total? It's probably going to be my next upgrade to go along with the 32" tires and I'm afraid to go any higher that 245/75 without re-gearing.

From my other thread:

Brought the total project to ~$2475 all said and done for yukon gears.
priced everything out back in december, pulled the trigger a few weeks ago.

So far so good, 500 miles on the new gears and it pulls up hills wonderfully!
