Hello everyone. I have been lurking around here for almost a month now.
Wanting to get into my first diesel and Jeep. I have researched Mercs, TDIs and CRDs til I'm blue in the face.

I am stuck on finding a CRD. Seen a couple of stock ones around my area and some already modded ones.

Seems the public does not know too much about these rigs, which is what draws me to them. I like being different.

CRD's are cool, but there's a bunch of maintenance to do if you get one. Check out Sir Sam's Noob Guide under the "CRD - Love that Torque!" section. It will help you decide if you want to take the plunge. I've also seen a bunch of CRD's for sale over the last several months on the Jeeps / Parts For Sale section (scroll down all the way to the bottom to find it). Maybe there's one in your area.

Good luck! :JEEPIN:

I am aware of the maintenance..I'd like to find one that already has a lot of the mods done that is in the noob guide. (longshot maybe...we'll see) I am not afraid to do some wrenching. As a son of a mechanic, I have done mostly all my own maintenance on every car I have owned. I have owned Saab, Honda, and several Mazdas (currently have an MPV and Mazda3). Never owned a domestic....technically the CRD is an imported engine.

Seems there is a lot of info and support on here for CRD owners which is pretty freakin cool! As long as this site is up, and there are helpful/informative people on here, I feel confident in buying one.

I found a 2005 CRD with 65k on the clock in the Dayton, Ohio area... but the wife wanted to go new.

Not sure where you are located, but I can send a link if you are interested...

Good luck with your search!

Dayton is a bit far for me...I am in Dallas, TX. I have looked at a couple around here and have my eye on one in particular. Gotta sell my wife's MPV first.
