Going to be doing the Timing belt in the CRD I just got and it looks like GDE is 3-4 weks out on the tool rental they do. I'm going to be going on a trip in two weeks and was hopeing to get it dont this weekend. I have an idea for a pulley locking tool but I need to know the diameter of the three holes in the pulleys, the measurement of how far they are from the center of the pulley and distance between the cam centers. I'll post photos when its done if anyone is interested. Dimentions on the locking pins would be great too, Shouldnt be to hard to make them on my metal lathe. I would just measure them when i'm in there but i'm going to be doing the change at a friends house because he has a pole barn with two lifts in it and all the tools one could dream for...

Thanks for any help!
Darren

Where do you live? Whats you current miles? There are several members whom have the tools needed. There also are several posts procedures to perform the change. Some are better than others. Several people have had issues setting the timing correctly. I just went thru this. My engine jumped time and I had a issue reseting it correctly due to lack of correct info. Its now embeded. MP me if you have any questions
