Why is so hard to Acknowledge that people have paid for and then not received or had long waits, lack of communication, or false communications. And some have had product that has not been of the quality that was expected?
I believe in one of Marty's own post he acknowledge this.
Why can some slam one company, and others can not post accurate accounts of their transactions?
Again we need company's to make products. Part of being in business, is dealing with complaints.

looks like you have a great memory that the roof rack is $500 shipped. stop being an antagonist, i dont think you have helped out on this forum one bit other than bash people because you feel you are better than them because you have a RL bumper and mommy and daddy and your gf gets you all your toys on your jeep.

Is a roof rack a bumper? Im sorry I thought I was talking to people that are intelligent enough to tell the difference between the two. And I love how you think you know me so well. My mom teaches high school making doo doo for money. My dad is SF and feels like modding the Jeep is mostly a waste, and even then he only spends money on my step family. I have had all of 4 things bought for me. 1 my dad got me wiper blades, as much as he will ever put into the jeep. 2 my mom bought me bumpstops, isos, and spacer plates. 3 my girl friends dad bought me a guage pod for graduation. 4 my mom got me tires for graduation which I payed for half of because she couldn't afford to pay more than that. It took my mom a whole 6 months to be able to have enough extra cash to be able to do that for me. EVERYTHING else I worked my booty off to get. I do all the work that I know how to do or dont think wills be to difficult to try and save on money. The only reason I got doo doo for graduation is because my family isnt paying for my college. I worked my as off in school and running to get an academic and athletic scholarship that makes it so I have 4 free years. Maybe you should know something beforw you try to say anything about me

Oh man and I never do anything to help anyone! I guess you only look through certain posts because that isn't true in the slightest, and I dont give smart booty answers like "through the grill" when someone is actually looking for help. I remember being on here and you were actually nice then I got a RL product and suddenly I might as well have the plague. Its cool though I understand, your envious  My bumper makes me better than people? How do you figure that one? Its funny the cool guys just tell you what you need to get next and then the part after that and then after that... But once you finally get that and then some they don't talk to you and assume you believe yourself to be better than them! The only exception i've found to that rule are the guys in Ohio. Now I understand why everyone hates tjkj!! He has cooler stuff than you AND knows more than you, and that just pisses you off.

Wow.
What does this personal stuff have to do with the thread?
It was started so people would know that some people had complaints with RL. To fully represent what issues people had.
My hope would be that RL-Marty would try to fix his poor business practices. Fulfill his orders, return emails/calls.
And then have all his customers willing to defend his business.

I just went back and noticed I didn't post my RL history here, it has been posted before.
Cliff notes.
Ordered- paid in full plus shipping.
Waited-months emails some answered some not, I did not save them.
Told they were made , waiting then told finishing. Shipping not received. Emails will ship. Plus for your patients will send you a gift card.
Finally received, installed poor fit. :(
Is there more of a mystery here? Vanishing posts?

Ok, time to add my two cents. First, I like Marty, I really do, I've meet him when he lived in the Springs and he hooked me up, quickly, with his sliders. They are amazing and I can't imagine having anything else on my KJ. I have no desire to trash a person, their kit, or their livelihood, but something has to give at some point.

So, I ordered a full on rear bumper over TWO (!!!) years ago. He gave me a great price (military) and shipping was to be a non issue since I lived an hour away and I paid in FULL:

Aug 26, 2010 Payment To Rock Lizard Fabrications Completed Details Payment To Rock Lizard Fabrications 7BJ64478V22918643

Tick, tock, tick tock, 9 months pass [and several(~5) promised deadlines] and no bumper. The Army reassigns me to CA and Marty says he will ship no problem and throw in some goodies to boot, cool.

Time passes, I get impatient and ask for a refund. After a few weeks of waiting for a reply, Marty says no problem, or I can leave him half and reserve my spot in line, just a couple months now. I'm excited (read: retarded), so I say "Keep the full amount, I'll wait a few more months!". Time flies by (another year), no communication, no answers to my e-mails and voicemails. I reach out to folks that know him, they say he's moved and setting up a new shop, all is soon to be well.

Finally, I get a PM here in Jun: All back orders will be complete soon (end of month)!!! Sweet. I replied to it, gave him my updated contact info and reaffirmed my excitement. That was three months ago and not a single ounce of communication has come my way, and damned sure no bumper. In the meantime, I see people post they are getting sliders, and bumpers, and hey, the SFA kit is know available and taking orders, awesome. But me, paid in full, waiting TWO+ years, not even so much as an e-mail saying "Sorry about the wait, you are next in line".

I get it, crud happens, life is hard, and some dogs bite. But seriously? I think I have waited long enough. Any other company and I would have taken it to court and darn sure told anyone who would listen to avoid them like the plague. As I said, I like Marty, and he makes amazing stuff, and I thought we were cool, but this is just beyond ridiculous at this point. Even my damned Rocky Road crap arrived after a few months, and they are beyond hated.

This is my rant and my experience, no doubt yours is different. These are NOT acceptable business practices anywhere in a free market world, nor are they even a decent way to treat someone in my opinion. As much as I love his products, whenever this is resolved, I will NEVER order another product from RL, no matter how much I covet them, especially that damned SFA kit.

Marty, if you are reading this, please, PLEASE get in touch with me via PM, e-mail, phone, effing carrier pigeon and get me my bumper.

Thanks for listening.

-Rob

I have had to wait for RL stuff...

Originally I paid for a front bumper but didn't get it right away. I pm'd him off of here with no reply. A few weeks later i ended up buying an arb bumper because I didn't want to wait. A few months later I saw coopatroopa post about his bumper so I e-maild Marty. Turns out I had my pm's turned off on here and he had been trying to get a hold of me and I didn't know it. I felt bad that I had to cancel my front bumper order because I now had the arb. Marty was more than understanding and offered to have my initial payment be applied to a rear bumper. He even painted AND installed the rear komodo for me for free... so it wad my fault on the bad communication but he still hooked me up.

Now I am just waiting for his safari rack or sfa for diesel :)

So you're saying the only possible way this company could have goten a hold of you (the customer) was via PM's on this 3rd party website? When did it become something other than the norm for a company to pick up the phone?

I have not bought anything from Rock Lizard. Based on what I've read I will never even give them a chance and would even relay these comments to anyone bringing up the company name in a conversation.

That there is just plain cut and dry real world business sense not to mention common sense as a consumer. Who the heck wants parts for a vehicle long after the Jeep is dead sitting in a junk yard somewhere.

FWIW, this is also my stance.

I closely watched how events unfolded to a nearby LOST member "received" their bumper, the fiasco they had to go through, and the quality issues. I've also had close contact with someone else who never got theirs and opted to get a refund (lucky that he got it too), one that ordered and is waiting 2+ years just for a refund, and another still who is still waiting for their product... long past 2 years.

I'm at a complete loss as to what happened to the practice of "first come, first serve."

*Oh, and let's keep the personal attacks down... don't want to have to lock this because people can't be civil. Thanks.*

Jayme, you know someone that has waited almost 5 years!!!!
