After our trips to Saunders Gorge and lower Yorke Peninsula I gave the KK a good detail today. Washed, blemishes removed, clayed, polished and sealed. Really happy with how the paint came up. Better than when we took delivery.

Gageraid, where does the intake tube sit relative to the grill? I looked closely through the mesh and I couldn't see it. Thanks for the photos! :JEEPIN:

It is impossible to see it through the mesh. My piece simply utilizes the already there intake tube from the stock location. I'm pretty much making it more of a straight shot for air to enter the intake by extending that very small stock tube. (Or so I've led myself to believe.)

Rims look great, I did the same thing, but left the center caps silver.

Gageraid, I like the mesh behind the grille! I'm getting sick of hosing bugs out of the condenser fins.

There is a topic on here for using gutter guard for the grille. I used satellite dish mesh for mine.

Its funny that after we'd been doing it for years on the KJs , Jeep "borrowed " the idea and put a tube to the grill on the KKs :ROTFL:
I've ran a 3 inch tube from the middle of the opening directly into the airbox for over 6 years now.

I never had luck with search and since I can't post links I guess I'll try to answer. Gutter guard is a metal mesh for keeping leaves out of gutter. The guards at my Home Ripoff were metal. So I took an old satellite dish mesh that is aluminum. The old dishes are those huge black ones.
I used one piece but some have used individual pieces. The grille comes apart and they placed them in between then snapped the grille back together. Screen is then outside, one piece like mine it's inside. I'll try to snap pictures.
Lost and KJ country has a lot to offer.

Thank you very much! It was the easiest mod ever especially if you've taken the grille off before. Just pick up anything at a home improvement store and a few zip ties. The mesh was silver, but I sprayed it black with plasti dip to help it blend it more with the grille.
From day one with my Jeep, I have no idea why they didn't install something like this because it catches every bug in there before it damages anything. This is a pretty popular mod on Jeeps from what I've read. Feel free to ask any questions if you need help.

Have you compared results to owners that have added one on the driver's side also for more air flow?

Did your KK come with the dual front tow hooks? I would imagine it'd be hard to install them with that lower grille that you have.

I figured it out. I wasnt signed into the jeepkj forum, because thats where you are posting the pics from. If you had used photobucket or some other photo site they will show up for everyone. Otherwise anyone who doesnt have an account here and over there can't see them. Just a note. Up to you. Looking good by the way. I need to hurry and do mine.
