It seems like every time I park my Liberty, I can hear a sizzling sound. I looked underneath and saw some drips sliding down the "insulation" behind the front left tire and down onto the exhaust pipe near the tire and some drips going straight to the ground. The drops appear to be pretty clear from what I can tell and they do not have a smell so I'm pretty sure it's just water. I hear this pretty much every time I park in my garage because it is quiet in there. It has been decent weather recently and I have not been running the A/C or the defroster. Is this normal or should I take it to the dealership to be checked out?

My two main concerns are: where is the liquid coming from and is it going to eventually damage the exhaust pipe by continuously dripping liquid on the hot pipe?

This happens with mine too ('08). I always thought it was condensation from the air conditioner. It's never been an issue, at least over 4 years and 50K miles.

Not many normal sources of dripping water if its not rain related.
My A/C condensate seems to drip just right of the middle.

Do you use your windshield washer frequently? Or, It may be leaking from its supply hoses somewhere.

What the ..... I have had my jeep for 2 months now (2011) and never had that problem. I just pulled into my garage and there it is right where you have it. driver side coming out from the insulation. No rain No A/C.

OK it seems to have something to do with the heater. I turned the heat on then turned on the fan and it started to pour. It is a slow drip with the blower off. I then turned the heat off and turned on the blower. same thing. I am going to let everything cool down. then try it with no heat just the blower.

Well I have an appointment with the dealer on Wednesday. With the engine off, key in the aux position, no heat, I turned on the fan and drip drip drip! The hoses for the heater core are one the top passenger side. How it is getting to the driver side cat I have know idea. The interior seems dry so maybe it is leaking behind all the firewall insulation. I only have 13K on it so it should be covered under warranty.
jayokc I will keep you posted.

Cancled my appointment today. It isn't dripping anymore and I can't duplicate it. I told the dealer I would bring it in as soon as it starts up again.

my 08 only drips with the AC on, but it drips down the driver side cat...the first time i noticed it i heard a sizzling sound. When i got underneath, i noticed the water dripping down to a scalding hot cat, hence the sizzling sound. But like i said, this only occurs when the AC has been running. Curious to know where water/condensation would be coming from if not from the use of the AC
