First you need to prime/bleed the new fuel filter, simply open the bleeder, pump until fuel comes out constantly without air bubbles, close the bleeder and your done, just a trick for your next time doing the fuel filter, before you install it on the heater head, fill it up with fuel or power service additive,it makes the priming/bleeding session quite shorter!
Hope this help,if you need more info just tell!
I have pre filled my filter several times once I posted about doing it with fuel from a gallon Gerry can I got scolded but nothing bad happened, maybe it was luck. last time I fulled it most of the way up with seafoam from a freshly opened can. That stuff is so clear i could see no visible dirt and I had no issue then either. the seafom may have cleaned the fuel system up a little.
I still would be care full what you fill the filter with you can trust is clean. If i'm not mistaken any thing you pour in the center hole on the filter goes in the engine unfiltered.
