My fuel system mudt have a leak domewhere as I have a troubling concern with air in the fuel system. My jeep in this weather, -14 C, stalls every morning.

The question is, what yo do first. I believe it would be next to impossible to find the exact leak. So should I throw some new parts at it like a Racor Fuel head or Kennedy Pump? If so, which one to try first?

Thanks to all advice in advance!!!

Peace,

Thomas

Look at the fuel filter bleeding video on Sir Sam's NOOB guide and see if you have the 1st gen fuel filter head. If so get the 2n gen filter head with wiring pigtail and replace the 1st gen head.

Other options:
1. remove the quick disconnect fittings on the fuel supply line and replace with hose and clamps. I highly recommend diesel rated marine grade hose and strongly recommend not using the cheap stuff most auto parts places sell especially the "chain" ones.
2. install an inline lift pump. Facet or Kennedy. There are plenty of posts on how to and where (back near tank or in engine bay)
3. install an in tank fuel pump. Also plenty of posts.

I have a Facet but it's not installed as the 2n gen fuel filter head cured my air in fuel problem.

Is there a difference between a Racor head vs Mopar 2nd Gen head? Is one a better product or relatively the same unit, different manufactures?

I use the Racor. It allows me to have 2 micron filtration over the stock 10 micron.

Checking the fuel connections at the filter and making sure the filter is on tight, is a really good place to start. You would be suprised at how easily the filter will unscrew itself and in turn screw you! My Jeep has really good hose clamps usually I remove the Banjo fitting if taking the fuel filter out. This way I do not break the hose from the fittings.
