It really sucks Rock Lizard seems to be flaky... I would love to order a front and rear bumper. The ARB is a little more than what I'm looking for and there are no other decent rear bumper options.

Rock Lizard takes a long time to get bumpers out the door. If you don't mind waiting, then it's worth the wait, otherwise, don't order.

could you be kind to enlighten us on how long does he normally take to get bumpers out the door :?: my order is approaching 9 months with Rock Lizard and yet no signs in the horizon for a delivery date :(

I hope he does not disappear with that fully paid upfront. I just can't trust Martin anymore, i never thought he'd be the type who'd commit and give he's word to deliver then fail and come up with excuses every time.

What a shame, i was fully in support of Martin and was going to push 26 fellow jeep customers from my country for Rock Lizard all with Kj's and KK's waiting to see the end results of my ordered bumpers.

If it makes you feel any better, I had to wait two years.

Well he certainly has something in common with Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "they all take 2 years to build" :? . Maybe he's thinking big.

Well, RL is a military vet who has had plenty of health issues, I’m just thankful that he keeps building quality products even though his health doesn’t always allow him to mass produce them. He does have a nice shop now, plus local businesses who can cut his steel, etc. It sounds like he’s better equipped today than ever before.

On average, RL builds an estimated one bumper per week. That tells you the amount of business he does. He probably sells an estimated 5 sliders and 1 roof rack to every bumper sold. It’s not like the guy is sitting around and doing nothing. These are just my estimates based on my conversations with him.

All the above does not justify the 9 months or 2 years of delay, it's just not acceptable by any standards. If he's that busy and unable to deliver then he should've never taken our business from the first place, or at the least be clear with customers from day one before they pay upfront.

I'm yet to hear of any fabricator of this kind in the world that take this long to deliver, it's totally unprofessional.

I agree with you, but unfortunately that’s not reality. If you’re that bitter about it, then I would suggest canceling your order and requesting a refund. The other option is to be thankful that somebody makes a high quality rear bumper for the KJ. Be patient with RL and have a positive attitude about the situation. Life is too short to be angry and bitter. The choice is yours.

Yes i did request Martin to cancel my order but unfortunately he's playing that arm-twisting game with me and only wants to refund 75% of the total amount or let him do the job and deliver whenever he wants

This is how Martin the Rock Lizard does business with customers.

bummer = disappointed to hear that you couldn't get back 100% of your refund. Just hang on a little longer, you'll be happy when you get your front and rear bumpers.

It appears RL is going through some type of ownership change according to his website. Hopefully this will help the product production and not hurt it. I am totally in on buying a front and rear but not until I hear all the previous orders have been fulfilled.

I don't know for sure, but I think he will be nearly caught up by the end of January. I'll be seeing him either Thursday or Friday of this week, perhaps I will find out more. :D

You should ask him if he has made any time to new product development :?:

I was going to let the judge in court do him this one last month but decided to give him the benefit of doubt hoping he'll stop giving excuses all the time and honor his words to customers :x

You're a good man, Jeepologist. I hope that he doesn't continue to take advantage of your kindness and that you get what you paid for! Keep us updated.

In the 6 years that I have been on this forum, I have never heard of anyone not getting their parts from RL. He has sold hundreds if not thousands of parts to Cherokee and Liberty owners. He wouldn't be in buisness today if he had stole people's money. I've bought parts from RL since 2008 and I've always gotten what I paid for. Rock Lizard Fabrications is not like Wal-Mart where you buy over the counter items manufactured off the assembly line in China. No, his parts are USA hand-made using USA steel.
