that is really it, I just feel the need to vent because I am so sick of wasting time on getting these fixed (and this is the only group who understands, isn't some guy on eight?) This side was drivers side front, I have had both rears replaced once.

I guess the good news is I always get them replaced for free, since jeep covers the problem until I believe next year for thier extended coverage (specific to this issue)

I just hope the fixed the issued and the new one is of a newer design. I haven't had problems with the replaced ones. If so, I feel like yelling at Jeep to replace my front passenger before the jeep coverage ends, even though it isn't broken (yet). These things are like $500 ticking time bombs.

Search the forums. There is an aftermarket solution.

After replacing my front drivers side twice I just went the Steiger route and have since replaced all others that have failed with Steigers. Havent had a problem since. I can change them out in about a half an hour now. Well worth the coin, and the headache! my :2cents:

x2 LI_KJ. Re the steiger approach and kept my original parts (except the steiger parts from new).
Jeep mix and match what is available in spares resources so you really don't know what you end up with - glasses from some years mixed with winders (actuators) and frames from other years - you will never decipher if it happens again and if a glass gets broken by some thug, going offroad or in an accident - you will find it hard to replace.

If the Steiger products are too pricey (and at $100/window they are), I went the cheapo ebay route and purchased a set of 4 metal brackets for the price of one Steiger bracket. I replaced all 4 myself and am now well-versed in how to tackle them should they ever fail again, which I doubt unless it's the motor itself that dies.
