I'm having a problem with the temp of the heat coming out of my vents, don't know if it's a problem with the heat blend actuator and/or the the heat blend doors. Heat comes out luke warm at best no matter what the fan speed is on.

Radiator, thermostat, hoses, water pump, rad cap all replaced within the last 6 months. Jeep doesn't overheat and temp gauge runs 1/2. Coolent level is at cold level when Jeep engine is cool. Both hoses going to heater core are hot.

Running out of options. Also where are the exact locations of the heat blend actuator and easiest way to get to it w/o removing dash.

This is the wife's car. I drive a 96 XJ and runs like a top. The liberty is killing me with all the problems in the last couple of years.

Any help will be appreciated.

Brian

I would do a flush on the heater core, just seen a 2003 with the same issues.

Oops - I didn't read both hoses to the core are hot. Can you hear the blend door opening when you change the selector switch ?

Checking it out again today, will let you know. BTW do you know of any easy access of the blend doors and actuator without removing the dash. Have no problem if I have to cut into the HVAC housing.

Flushed the heater core anyway, didn't see much deposits coming out in either forward or reverse flush. Did notice that the heat in the cabin was a tad warmer, 102-107 degrees, which was better than the 90 I had before.

Sliding the temp switch back and forth I could hear the actuator operating and stopping, but didn't hear noticable thud of the blend door. Is the actuator located behind the glove box in the HVAC housing and if I cut into the housing can I reach the actuator and blend doors?
