Hi all, I´m reposting my message from other section.

on one of my KK´s I have got some issues which I cannot find the answer for. It´s a 2008 CRD which started to hesitate and run poorly at low RPM.

I replaced a split hose (turbo to intercooler) and thought thats it. Well it kept doing it. I cleaned MAF and MAP sensor, Took out the EGR valve and cleaned it, took of the intake (only the top part) and cleaned as much soot as I could but with no result. Changed all filters and oil...

when I disconect the vacuum line going to the EGR the car runs great except that it shows the warning light and sometimes the Limp mode gets activated. VERY ENOYING.

when I reconect the line to the EGR the car becomes undrivable.

There are no codes showing up on the dash.

I really ran out of ideas, the EGR valve didnt look to bad and I reinstalled it after cleaning.

I started thinking its the Cat thats partially blocked and pushes to much exhoust gasses into the engine when the EGR opens up.

Any sugestions, I dont want to take the car to the local dealer as it is such a bad service and they really steal your money.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Steven

If you could check the stored fault codes in engine controller it would be helpful.

I will take it to a shop and read out the stored codes.

On the dash it doesn't show any codes in te odometer.

I think I should invest in a OBD code reader.

I will keep you updated when I get it.

I doubt it's a plugged cat, it would run fine at lower rpm, and choke when you want power. Perhaps it is your EGR or AFC acting up, but it would be useful to post any codes once you get that scanner.

Got an appointment at the shop tomorrow.

The Jeep doesn't run to good now even with the EGR disconnected. It does run better in the morning cold weather,

Let's see what codes I get.

I will update tomorrow

P0299 is the code that shows.

I will go trough the hoses again. When my mecánic found the split hose (turbo to intercooler) which we replaced. it could be he didnt check the other hoses properly.

Hopefully It aint Turbo related. Although the car acelerates well without the egr conected.

P0504 is another code that I think causes my Tractioncontrol and Esp/Bas light show up when braking while parking.

Steven...

I know nothing about the 08 model but on the 05/06 P0299 can be from a bad vacuum line; see viewtopic.php?f=5&t=61240

Thanks for the info. Tomorrow i will have a look and check the hoses.

What i have seen is that the hoses from the turbo to intercooler blow up so there is boost from the turbo.

Anyone has had the experience of a clogged intercooler?

My KK has got 125000km.

I have that code and I can't get rid of it. Even after having the air filter replaced after a mouse built a nest in the airbox. I've also got a lag in boost, so if you find something, post it.

FIXED... I found a big crack in a hose. The one to the intercooler.

Replaced it and car runs great again.

Needless to say that the mechanic who Checked the hoses before needs a pair of glases.

Anyhow. Still got the P0504 code which is related to traction control light shows up.

I read that this could be the brake switch under the pedal.

Any tread on this issue or anyone knows?

Thanks for the help

Steven.

The P0504 fault is a plausibility between the main and redundant brake switch circuits that run to the PCM.

Odds are you need a new brake switch, should be a 10min swap under the dash.
