just placed an order with jeepinbyal. Brent over there has been super helpfull and answered all my questions and emails really fast over the past few days. I bought OME HD front springs and ome struts, ome medium rear springs and ome longer shocks kit, new strut mounts with new isolators and i am having them pre-assemble them. I slo picked up the terraflex bumpstops. I did opt for the a-arms since everyone says there worth it.

any recomendations for installing a-arms? so i need the rear bumpstops too? do i really need the front too?

cant wait :pepper:

The front and rear bumpstops are needed. They are the cheapest parts of the lift and the easiest to install. They keep the springs from over-compressing and being permanently damaged. The fronts just pop into the cup. The rears are just two hockey pucks per side, $5 each if you get you favorite team, 1/2" center hole drilled in them and a hole, drilled and tapped, in the lower spring pad to screw them into.

You should hammer down the bottom lip of the a-arm windows to give clearance for full droop travel.

Smart move ordering the extra top plates and isolators, that will speed up install greatly.
You could probably even sell your old plates and iso's to the next guy installing a lift, then he sells his and keep a chain going...

Jeepin by al has them for the 4" lift but they're made to be cut for smaller lifts :2cents:

I can't tell if you are thinking that it's too much work, or too much money.
I could put a kit together for you. Drill, Tap, two flathead 1/2-13x2.750 bolts and four hockey pucks.(painted the color of your choice and nylock 1/2-13 nuts optional)

Pretty sure you can't do the hockey pucks on the KK. They're too big to fit inside the spring. Need the bumpstops for the KK on JBA's website.

Tips for the A-Arms since I just installed mine on Saturday. The passenger side is easy. The driver side front is easy. The driver side rear.....sweet mother of god....Look in your front driver side wheel well and you'll see two 10mm nuts. Take those out so it'll loosen up your steering rod giving you some more room to work with. Then get a long extension that's not gonna twist around since you'll need all the torque you can get. If you have an air tool it'll be perfect otherwise you'll be loosening it one click at a time like me. Go at it from behind the driver side head light. You'll need to reach back and feel for the nut so you can put the socket on it cause good luck seeing it.

Then when you get it out just reverse the process. It helps a lot for that back one if you have someone lining up the UCA from the wheel well.

I got the same lift as you did and I fricken love it.

FYI, you should only tighten the a-arm bolts all the way when the vehicle is back on the ground.

I've had my EMU lift from Jeepinbyal installed now for almost 2 months. About 1 week after it, I was getting a "thud" from the front. Mostly when I brake hard and turn to the right or left during the braking (like a last minute decission to turn). Sometimes, it will do it just turning normal. It just feels like the springs are trying to "seat" them selves back in place. It rides and handles nice but I've sent Marv an email, he asked how many miles I had on the rig and have heard nothing else. The dealer who put them on said to bring it back and they would check it out but not had the time. And I'm not driving it as much now that we got a new VW Passat TDI. Loving the MPG but miss the jeep. The lift I got was listed as a 1.5inch lift but I was told it would give me 3inches. I also opted for the "A" arms. I talked to JeepinbyAl also and they DID NOT recommend the bumpers (front or rear) and even the dealer who put them (and they trick out jeeps right off the showroom floow) didn't recommend them either. So, I spent my 1200.00 for the lift + A arms, then the extra for the dealer to install'em. Only had a hard time getting it all aligned up.

So, anyone wi th the old man emu (shocks, springs and A arm) lift have any issues with the popping? If I had to explain it any better, it's like when those spring spacers the you twist into your coils pop out. Something seems like it's binding (not my joints) but it doesn't happen every single time. :ALONE:

Try backing out the front swaybar end link bolts a little then retorque with the weight of the vehicle on the ground.
